Huskies announce 2010 schedule

2010 Schedule

Head coach Tracey Leone has announced Northeastern's 2010 schedule as she prepares her first season on the sidelines for the Huskies, who are coming off a 2009 CAA regular season championship. The schedule includes a competitive seven-game non-conference slate and eight home dates at Parsons Field.

The season will commence Sunday, Aug. 22 at Parsons Field as NU welcomes defending SEC champion South Carolina to Brookline. The following week, the Huskies will have a two-game swing in Rhode Island, battling Bryant (Aug. 27) and Rhode Island (Aug. 29).

To open September, Northeastern will take part in the Nike Invitational at Dartmouth, playing Brown on Sept. 3 and Dartmouth on Sept. 5. NU will wrap up non-conference games with a pair at home, taking on Lafayette (Sept. 12) and New Hampshire (Sept. 17) at Parsons Field.

The Huskies open CAA play with three straight on the road beginning Sept. 24 at VCU. NU will also play at James Madison, Delaware, Old Dominion, William & Mary and Hofstra this season.

Northeastern's home conference opener is Oct. 3 against Drexel. The team will also host George Mason, Towson, UNC Wilmington and Georgia State.

The CAA Championship will take place Nov. 5-7 at the home of the highest seed. Northeastern hosted the 2009 tournament after winning the regular season title. The Huskies have been very successful in the conference of late, tallying a 13-6-3 record over the last two seasons and winning the 2008 CAA Championship.
