Wells tied a James Madison record with his nine three-pointers, never even attempting a two-point field goal, and was joined in double figures by senior forward Denzel Bowles, who chipped in 19 points, nine rebounds and two blocks.
In addition to his career scoring high, Marshavelski blocked three shots for the Huskies. Rookie forward

Pierson netted Northeastern's next six points to put the Huskies up 12-7 and later knocked down a jumper to put Northeastern up, 18-11, midway through the first half. The Huskies built the lead to eight when Harris completed a traditional three-point play for a 29-21 lead with 5:53 to go in the first half.

That was part of a 14-2 James Madison run that had the Dukes up, 51-44, with 12:12 left.
James Madison never relinquished the lead after that point. The Huskies got back within one in the final two minutes of the game, but sophomore guard Devon Moore and Bowles got back-to-back buckets to put the game out of reach.
