The women's cross country team dispatched five Huskies to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning as a tune-up meet for the impending championship season just a couple weeks away.
Sophomore
Lauren Wardwell was the Huskies' top runner, crossing the 5K course in 20:30.52 for 86th place while rookie
Nicole Novellino turned in an 89th-place mark of 20:32.05. Senior
Lauren Ward registered a time of 20:33.68 for 93rd place.
Freshman
Keira Robertson and senior
Kathleen Keen closed out NU's trials with respective marks of 21:26.08 and 22:01.89 for 157th and 179th place.
Wardwell's time was better than 172 other harriers in the field of 258.
Northeastern will engage in one last meet before championship season strikes. The Huskies will run at the CCSU Ted Owens Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 24 before taking a week off to recover for the New England Championship, taking place on Oct. 8 at Franklin Park in Boston.
