Welcome to Meet The Huskies, an in-depth look at the Northeastern women's ice hockey team. Each week, GoNU.com will feature one student-athlete from the women's ice hockey squad and find out about their lives on and off the ice. This week, we meet junior defenseman Sonia St. Martin from Pierrefonds, Quebec.

WHY NORTHEASTERN?
I chose Northeastern because of the facilities available, the hockey program and the co-op program. Boston is also a beautiful city, a lot like my hometown, Montreal, so it would be really easy to adapt

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PREGAME MEAL?
Spaghetti with meat sauce

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOCKEY MEMORY?
My favorite hockey memory would be winning the Beanpot last year. I remember when BU was up one goal with five minutes left and we just kept our heads up and cheered each other on. As soon as we tied the game, I knew that we would come through and win the tournament.

THREE WORDS I WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE MYSELF AS A HOCKEY PLAYER:
• Defensive
• Aggressive
• Responsible

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING THING ABOUT COLLEGE SO FAR?
Managing schoolwork, tutor sessions, workouts, on-ice practice, and traveling

MY TEAMMATES WOULD DESCRIBE ME AS:
Outgoing, upbeat, energetic, and supportive

I HOPE DO TO THIS BEFORE GRADUATION:
Make it to the Frozen Four! It's our time!!

The Huskies kickoff the regular season this weekend, beginning on the road at Colgate on Friday (7 p.m.) and at Syracuse on Saturday (4 p.m.)
