CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 10 Northeastern entered its matchup with No. 24 Boston College on a three-game win streak, but the upset-minded Eagles used their home field advantage to take down the Huskies by a slim, 1-0 margin Friday night. It was the first time the Huskies have been shutout this season.

Early on, the Huskies had multiple opportunities for a score, including a shot from freshman Deirdre Duke that hit the crossbar just 2:23 into the period. Crystal Poland had another opportunity following a penalty corner at 8:33, all before BC even got a shot off.

The Huskies' defense was stout throughout the contest, allowing nine shots all game, three in the first half. The Eagles only earned three penalty corners all game against NU. The Huskies amassed eight shots and seven penalty corners of its own on the night.

However, at 40:07, Boston College's AshLeigh Sebia received a cross in front of the net and slid the ball past senior NU goalkeeper Lizzie Priest, putting the Eagles up, 1-0, eventually becoming the game winner.

For the final 3:03 of the game, the Huskies went without Priest, who had two saves on the evening, but to no avail. The BC defense held tight to preserve the 1-0 win. Northeastern drops to 10-3 on the season, but is still very much in the conference hunt with a 3-1 CAA record. The Huskies are set to host Maine in Durham, N.H., Sunday with a 2 p.m. start time. The game will be NU's Stick it to Cancer game, supporting cancer awareness.
