Maki, a 6'1 right-handed pitcher, is coming off a junior season in which he appeared in 16 games and threw 58 and 2/3 innings for the Huskies. Maki will be looked to as a key player on the NU pitching staff in 2013. The Gloucester, Mass., native is earning his degree with a double major in finance and management.
Puttress, a red shirt senior is coming off a strong 2012 season. Last year, Puttress started 48 games and posted a .323 batting average in 192 at bats.
