Sophomore
Matt Cook made his second start of the season for Northeastern and picked up his first win, going six innings and surrendering three earned runs on four hits while striking out seven.
For the Bears, Will Marcal went four innings and allowed four runs on five hits to take his second loss of the season.
Brown took the early lead in the first inning when Slaughter hit a two run homer in the first inning. The Bears tacked on another run in the second when Tyler Graham hit a sacrifice fly, scoring John Sheridan.
The Huskies got things going in the bottom of the second when
Jon Leroux led off the inning with a single.
Rob Fonseca then doubled to deep left field, moving Leroux to third.
Jason Vosler grounded to third baseman Nick Fornaca, who was able to get the ball home to tag out Leroux at the plate for the first out of the inning.
Connor Lyons continued the inning and brought Fonseca home with the Huskies' second double of the inning, making it 3-1. After

Aaron Barbosa walked to load the bases and Puttress brought two more runs home with a single up the middle.
Northeastern took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring the go-ahead run. Barbosa laid a bunt down the first base line and hustled to first base. With Slaughter struggling to make the play, Barbosa advanced to second when he dropped the ball for an error.
After a Brown pitching change that brought Anthony Galan to the mound, his first pickoff throw to second base went into center field, allowing Barbosa to move to third. Matt Miler hit a sacrifice fly to right field that brought Barbosa home for the go-ahead run. Miller now has six RBIs on the season.
Sophomore
Mike Hanlon came in for the seventh and pitched two scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and walking one while striking out three.
Foster finished things off with a smooth ninth inning to seal the Huskies' eighth win of the season
The Huskies head to Atlanta this weekend to face the Georgia State Panthers in a three-game series. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 6 p.m.
