MONTREAL—For the second game in as many days, the Northeastern men's basketball team dominated the fourth quarter to earn victory, defeating McGill, 80-66, on Sunday in Montreal. The Huskies, who outscored Laval by 13 in the final period on Saturday, equaled that feat against McGill to turn a one-point third quarter edge into a comfortable win.

In a balanced attack, every Northeastern player found both the scoring and rebounding columns. It was the second time in three games that every NU player scored.

Reggie Spencer (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) registered 14 points to lead the Huskies. The sophomore forward also grabbed a team-best seven rebounds. Joel Smith (Leander, Texas) added 11 points and Quincy Ford (St. Petersburg, Fla.) chipped in 10 points. Derrico Peck (Woodstock, Ga.), who turned two backcourt steals into highlight dunks, added eight points, as did fellow freshmen Zach Stahl (Chanhassen, Minn.), David Walker (Stowe, Ohio), and sophomore Demetrius Pollard (Virginia Beach, Va.). Jonathan Lee (Flint, Mich.) had a game-high five assists to just one turnover on the afternoon.

Nicolas Langley scores 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting to lead McGill, while Adrian Hynes-Guery added 13. Langley and Hynes-Guery combined for four of McGill's nine made 3-point baskets.

Following a script similar to that of the night before, a resilient Northeastern squad saved its best effort for the game's final 10 minutes. After surrendering 30 third-quarter points, an attacking Huskies defense allowed just nine points in the final stanza. McGill converted two free throws to grab a one-point edge just 30 seconds into the fourth, but was limited to just seven points over the final 9:30 of play. Northeastern converted its defensive intensity into offense, rattling off 18 straight points to open up a game-high 17-point advantage with 4:15 remaining. Six different Huskies scored during the decisive run.

In the first half, Northeastern jumped out to an early 17-8 lead after one quarter and led by nine, 36-27, at halftime. The Huskies shot an impressive 59 percent over the first 20 minutes, while limiting McGill to just 33-percent shooting.

The Redmen, though, found their range in the third quarter. The home team scored 30 third-quarter points on the strength of five made 3-pointers. McGill led at three different points during the quarter before the Huskies claimed a one-point edge heading into the final quarter.

For the game, Northeastern shot 47 percent (32-68) from the floor, including 30 percent (6-20) from long range. NU struggled from the free throw line, shooting just 59 percent (10-17). McGill shot 35 percent (24-68) for the game, and 31 percent (9-29) from beyond the arc. The Redmen connected on 75 percent (9-12) of their free throw attempts and out-rebounded the visitors, 45-40.
