The Northeastern women's soccer team looks to get back on track on Thursday night when it continues its five-game homestand with a visit from the Ivy League's Brown University. Kick-off in Brookline is set for 6 p.m.

Northeastern vs. Brown
Thursday night will mark the seventh time in program history the Huskies have taken on Brown. The Bears have a 5-1 edge in the all-time series, but the lone Husky victory came in Tracey Leone's first season at the helm. That contest took place on Sept. 3, 2010 as part of the Nike Invitational in Hanover, N.H. Veronica Napoli scored the Huskies' goal in the 1-0 victory, off assists from Greta Samuelsdottir and Marcela Bedoya. Michelle Sopko started in net for the Huskies and record six saves for the shutout. Northeastern is 2-12-1 all-time against teams from the Ivy League, including a 1-1 mark under Leone.

Last time out
Northeastern jumped out to an early lead thanks to Lahaina Zoller's first goal of the season, but the Dayton Flyers bounced back to score three straight goals and pick up a 3-1 victory on Sunday afternoon. Zoller's goal came in the 15th minute, when she took a feed from freshman Emily Nasuti and floated a shot from the right side of the box into the back left corner of the net. Paige Burnett got the start in net for the Huskies, picking up eight saves. Dayton's game-winner came off the foot of Juliana Libertin, who converted a penalty kick in the 77th minute.

Breaking down the Bears
Brown comes into Thursday night's contest winners of three of its first four, sitting at 3-1 on the year. The Bears picked up their third victory of the season on Sept. 8, defeating Vermont in Burlington by a score of 1-0. Mika Siegelman scored the game-winner in the 24th minute, and Amber Bledsoe and MC Barrett combined to make four saves for the shutout. Chloe Cross leads the way for Brown offensively, notching three goals on the year, and Siegelman has added a pair. Louisa Pitney and Alison Mullin both have a pair of assists to pace the Bears. Bledsoe and Barrett have evenly split time in net, with Bledsoe playing every first half and Barrett closing. The two have combined to allow just three goals in four games, all coming in a loss at Providence on Sept. 6.

Zoom zoom Zoller
Sophomore Lahaina Zoller scored her first goal of the season vs. Dayton on Sept. 9. The Honolulu, Hawaii native had a pair of tallies last season. Her 1-1-3 scoring line is second on the Huskies.

Helping hands
All five of Northeastern's goals this season have come off of assists, and all five assists have come off the feet of different players. Greta Samuelsdottir, Zoller, Hillary Savoy, Emily Nasuti and Hanna Terry have picked up NU's five helpers this year. Terry was NU's leading returner in assists from last year with three. Savoy's assist on Aug. 31 was the first point of the junior captain's career, as was Nasuti's tally vs. Dayton on Sept. 9.

Fantastic freshmen
Head coach Tracey Leone has already gotten an abundance of contribution from her rookie class. Seven different freshman have seen time this season, and six have made at least one start.  Rookies Shayna Blackwood, Oksana Nicholls and Taylor Tharp have all appeared in all six of Northeastern's game this year, and Nicholls has gotten a starting nod in every contest. The Glendora, Calif. native is the only player on the team to play all 559 minutes of the season so far. The lone freshman to play without making a start, goalkeeper Bailey Bruckmann, made two saves in her first appearance of the season at Ohio State.

Super Samuelsdottir
Senior captain Greta Samuelsdottir leads the Huskies in scoring with a 2-1-5 scoring line on the young season. The Kopavogur, Iceland native picked up her first two goals of the season in the win on Aug. 31 vs. UNH, the 19th and 20th goals of her career. Samuelsdottir now sits in a tie for fifth all-time in program history in goals. She is the sixth player to score 20 goals as a Husky, and her 10 career assists are also fifth in program history. She is the fifth 50-point scorer in NU history.

Keep those flags down
Northeastern has only been called for offsides three times this season, by far the lowest total in the CAA. The next closest are Old Dominion and Georgia State, each with seven. NU's opponents have been flagged 20 times in six games.

Fan shuttles to Parsons Field will be departing from Chicken Lou's one hour prior to gametime. For those fans unable to make it out to Brookline, a free video stream is available in HD at www.GoNU.com/xstream.
