BOSTON – Fresh off of a strong performance in a conference tri-meet against Drexel and Delaware, Northeastern's swimming and diving team looks to host its last dual of the season when the Vermont Catamounts visit Barletta Natatorium at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
As the last home meet of the 2012-13 year, Saturday is also Senior Day for six Huskies. Northeastern will honor
Kelley Becherer,
Cassandra Cesaro,
Nicole Colucci,
Chelsea Lim,
Keary McClernan and
Allison Walker, all of whom have left great impacts in the Huskies' record books.
The last time NU was in the pool, its first meet of new year, the Huskies grabbed six total event wins against the Dragons and Blue Hens, including two from sophomore
Anna Schegoleva (100 and 200 back). McClernan (200 breaststroke), juniors
Julia Alvarez (100 breaststroke) and Alli Gielowski (100 butterfly) and sophomore
Megan Foran (200 free) all contributed wins in their respective events for the Huskies as well. NU defeated host Drexel, 204-96, and was barely edged by Delaware, 151-149.
Vermont enters the weekend with an 8-3 record (1-1, America East), coming off a fifth-place finish at the Orange Bowl Classic on Jan. 3.
