BROOKLINE, Mass. -- In a rematch of the 2013 CAA championship game, the Northeastern women's soccer team once again proved to be too much for James Madison (7-6-0, 2-1-0 CAA) in a 2-0 victory on Alumni Day Sunday at Parsons Field. The win extended the Huskies' winning-streak to five games and gave NU its NCAA-leading 11th shutout of the season.

The Huskies (9-3-2), who have outscored opponents 11-0 in conference play, are 4-0-0 to start their CAA schedule for the second straight year. Northeastern has not allowed a goal in five matches and has conceded just one goal in the last 850 minutes overall.

For the second straight game, senior Lahaina Zoller scored the game-winner within the first 10 minutes of the match. Just over seven minutes into Sunday's contest, freshman Carly Wilhelm unlocked the JMU defense with a beautiful through-ball to Zoller, who raced in alone and placed a shot under the arm of Dukes' keeper Ellen Forrest and inside the right post to make it 1-0 Huskies. It was Zoller's second career game-winning goal against James Madison after also netting the decisive strike in the 2013 CAA title match.

Northeastern added a second goal in the 57th minute when Wilhelm was dragged down in the box resulting in a penalty kick. Sophomore Mackenzie Dowd calmly stepped up and sent Forrest the wrong way for her team-leading fifth goal of the year and fourth goal in the last four games.

The Huskies' backline was exceptional once again, limiting JMU to just five shot attempts on the day. Seniors Awnalisa Walker and Bianca Calderone were outstanding in central defense with several key tackles and pass interceptions. On the flanks, Dowd and sophomore Skylar LeBlanc suffocated the Dukes' wingers, and senior Paige Burnett tied a season-high with three stops.

Through 14 matches, Northeastern has still not conceded a goal in the second half. The Huskies have outscored their opponents, 13-0, in the second half this season.

Northeastern will look to continue its sizzling form with a road match against Hofstra on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 4:30 p.m.
