BOSTON – Northeastern freshmen divers
Caroline Gonsalves and
Jacquelyn Gover have each qualified for the NCAA Zone A diving meet by way of their scores against New Hampshire, earlier this season on Oct. 25.

Both divers clinched a spot in the first-round championship meet by surpassing the qualifying standard of 265 points in the 1-meter dive. Gonsalves won the event against the Wildcats with a score of 269.20, while Gover finished
directly behind her teammate in second place, receiving a score of 266.05.

The Huskies diving team has been a force on the boards all year long, having outscored its competition by a combined 133-55 in five dual meets this season. Northeastern has also swept the podium in six diving events against three dual-meet opponents (New Hampshire, George Mason, and College of Charleston).

Gonsalves, a newcomer from East Lyme, Connecticut, is second on the diving team this season with 39 individual points, and earned her second win of the year in the 1-meter dive against Brown on Nov. 7. Gover, a first-year diver from North Easton, Massachusetts, alsoÂ
claimed her second win in the 3-meter dive against Brown, and was recognized as CAA Diver of the Week for her performance against New Hampshire.The 2015 NCAA Zone A diving meet will be held from March 9-11 at the Rutgers Aquatic Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Gonsalves and Gover will have their first look at the Rutgers pool next weekend when the Huskies compete against seven teams, including the Scarlet Knights, in the 2014 Frank Elm Invitational from Nov. 21-23.
