BRONX, N.Y – The Northeastern men's and women's cross country teams earned 24th- and 25th-place finishes at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships held in Van Cordtlandt Park in the Bronx, New York, on Friday, Nov. 14.Â

The teams were pitted against some of the top cross country programs in the Northeast Region, and ran hard in hopes of advancing the IC4A / ECAC Championships.

Lucy Young and
Zachary Fraielli continued their stellar individual seasons by pacing the Huskies again and finishing 19th and 34th, respectively.

The women competed in a 6k, while the men competed in a 10k. Young crossed the finish line with a time of 20:55.59. The All-CAA team member has now finished first or second among competing Huskies in every event she has appeared in this fall.

Fellow sophomore
Jordan O'Dea was the next Husky to cross the line. She took home 89th place after completing her 6k in 21:54.81. Freshmen
Kerri Ruffo and
Madeline Bradford finished 163rd and 193rd overall with times of 23:03.16 and 23:22.30, respectively.

As a team, the women finished with a score of 675 to take home 25th place at the event. First place went to Iona, while Providence and Dartmouth finished second and third.Â

On the men's side, it was Fraielli who was the first Husky to cross the finish line with a time of 31:16.56, which placed him 34th overall. Also a member of the All-CAA team, the senior has had a terrific fall and has been the top finisher among Huskies in the previous four events.

Behind the senior was
Stephen Sollowin, who finished the 10k in 82nd place with a time of 31:55.90.
Charles Conway, who crossed the finish line 32:42.93 to finish in 134th place and
Zachary Krause, who came in 167th place with a time of 33:11.21 rounded out the top finishers for NU.Â
The men's team score at the event was 659, good for a 24th-place finish. Syracuse, Providence and Iona were the top-three overall finishers in the men's competition.Â
