Postseason Freshman Top 100BOSTON – Three members of the Northeastern women's soccer team were named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Postseason Top 100 lists, as announced by the website on Wednesday.
Senior
Bianca Calderone earned a spot on the National Top 100 list as the No. 92 player in the country, while freshmen
Hannah Lopiccolo and
Kayla Cappuzzo landed on the Freshman Top 100 list as the No. 9 and No. 26 rookies in the nation, respectively.
The 2014 CAA Defensive Player of the Year, Calderone was instrumental to Northeastern's success on both sides of the ball. The Wellesley, Massachusetts, native posted 10 points and started all 23 games for a defense that set a new single-season program record with 17 shutouts.
Lopiccolo ascended to the top-10 of the Freshman Top 100 after earning a
No. 26 ranking in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Midseason table. The Trabuco Canyon, California, native led the Huskies with 16 points en route to earning CAA Rookie of the Year honors. On Tuesday, Lopiccolo was also named to the
TopDrawerSoccer.com Freshman First Team.
Cappuzzo also moved up in the ranks after being named the
No. 37 freshman in the Midseason rankings. The Merrick, New York, native was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team after posting 13 points on four goals and a team-high five assists.
