SOCHI – All four Northeastern women's hockey Olympians will be playing for medals on Thursday, Feb. 20 as the United States will battle Canada for gold, and Switzerland will face Sweden for bronze.

Kendall Coyne had two assists on Monday against Sweden as the Americans advanced to the Gold Medal Game with a 6-1 victory at Shayba Arena. Coyne assisted on Megan Bozek's goal that made it 5-0 in the second period, before earning the primary helper on Brianna Decker's tally in the third that rounded out the scoring.

Coyne and assistant coach Hilary Witt '00 will each be looking for their first Olympic medals when Team USA faces rival Canada on Thursday for the championship. Opening faceoff in the Gold Medal Game is set for 12 p.m. ET on NBC.

Florence Schelling '12 and Julia Marty '11 will also be playing for their first medals on Thursday as Switzerland will take on Sweden in the Bronze Medal Game at 7:00 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

Schelling was magnificent against Canada in the semifinals, stopping 45 shots as the Swiss battled hard in a 3-1 loss. Marty also played a significant role with a team-high 23:22 of ice-time. Marty did not earn an assist, but played a big part in setting up Switzerland's goal in the second period.

Northeastern has already won one medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics as Steve Langton '06 took home bronze in the two-man bobsled event.
