BOSTON—Highlighted by 7 IC4A qualifying times, 22 personal bests and five NU all-time top ten performances, the Northeastern men's track and field team closed out the Valentine Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Jared Lane kicked off day two of the meet with a 14-place finish in the 200-meter dash, an event showcasing 232 runners, while teammate
Donovan Henry crossed shortly behind to claim 30th at 22.17, both IC4A qualifying times.
Josh Norris led a trio of Huskies in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 49.24 for 29th place. Henry (55th, 50.04) and
David Johnson (56th, 50.04) also competed in the event.
In a pool of 233 runners,
Paul Duffey,
Michael Flaherty and
Craig Hammond set personal bests in the 800-meter run. Duffey snagged a 19th-place finish, crossing with an IC4A qualifying mark of 1:51.70.
In the mile run,
Wesley Gallagher, the 2013 Colonial Athletic Association Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year, fought a hard race and set a new personal best with a time of 4:05.07, good for 31st.
Zachary Krause logged an 8:29.29 mark in the 3,000-meter run (57th), while
Stephen Sollowin claimed ninth in the 5,000-meter run with an IC4A time of 14:21.18 to round out the distance events for the Huskies.
In the field, Nick Tyler took 11th in the pole vault (4.50 meters), and
Anthony Pavlich jumped 12.44 meters for a 14th-place finish in the triple jump.
Kevin Rosenberg and
Max Milder tossed IC4A qualifying marks in the shot put (16.28 meters) and weight throw (17.11 meters), respectively.
