BOSTON – In a game featuring 13 ties and 15 lead changes, the Northeastern men's basketball team (12-5, 4-1 CAA) shot 64 percent and used a late 11-0 run to hand Hofstra (13-5, 4-1 CAA) its first CAA loss in a 91-83 victory on Wednesday at Matthews Arena.

In front of an electric crowd, sophomore T.J. Williams posted his first collegiate double-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, while junior David Walker scored 17 of his game-high 22 points in the second half. Walker also went 10-for-10 at the free throw line, becoming the first Husky since Quincy Ford in 2012 to knock down all 10 foul shots.

Senior Scott Eatherton scored 21 points for the second straight game, and junior Zach Stahl chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds to help Northeastern earn its seventh straight win over the Pride.

Juan'ya Green (21 points, 11 assists) and Ameen Tanksley (15 points, 11 rebounds) each posted double-doubles for Hofstra, which had its six-game winning streak snapped.

The Pride (29-for-75) attempted 28 more field goals than Northeastern (30-for-47), but shot just 38.7 percent from the floor. Northeastern won the rebounding battle, 37-36, and notched a season-best nine blocks, including a game-high four swats by Ford. The Huskies also converted a season-high 26 free throws (26-for-38) and notched 44 points in the paint.

Northeastern hit seven of its first 10 shots–capped by a pretty hook shot from redshirt sophomore Kwesi Abakah–to jump out to a 17-12 lead at the 13:30 mark.

The Pride shot their way back into the game and tied the scoreline at 27-apiece at the 8:37 mark after a fadeaway 3-pointer from Brian Bernardi in the left corner.

Hofstra then claimed its largest lead of the night at four, 43-39, after a triple from Green and a layup from Rokas Gustys with 1:17 to play in the half.

The Huskies closed the frame with two straight baskets, including a finger-roll by Eatherton at the buzzer, to head into the locker room tied, 43-43.

The teams traded leads through the first 11 minutes of the second stanza, before a decisive 11-0 Northeastern run put the game away. After a Gustys layup gave Hofstra a 69-68 lead with nine minutes remaining, Walker ignited the run with a 3-pointer, before jumpers from Eatherton, Ford and redshirt junior Caleb Donnelly extended the NU advantage to 79-69 with 5:48 to play.

The Pride pulled within five at 81-76 with 3:20 showing on the clock, but the visitors would get no closer as the Huskies tallied their highest-scoring output of the season with 91 points.

Winners of three straight, and five of their last six, the Huskies will return to action Saturday for a CAA contest against Charleston at Matthews Arena. Opening tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
