BOSTON – Five Huskies scored in double-figures on Saturday as the Northeastern men's basketball team held off a late rally to down the College of Charleston, 69-67, at Matthews Arena.

Junior Zach Stahl posted his fourth career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while junior David Walker scored a team-high 14 points to help the Huskies (13-5, 5-1 CAA) win their fourth straight game.

Sophomore T.J. Williams (12 points), senior Scott Eatherton (11 points) and redshirt junior Quincy Ford (10 points) also scored in double-figures for Northeastern, which moved to 7-0 in Saturday games this season.

Joe Chealey scored a game-high 23 points for the Cougars (6-13, 1-5 CAA), while Adjehi Baru (13 points) and Canyon Barry (11 points) also reached double figures in scoring.

The Huskies out-rebounded Charleston, 32-22, and shot 53.5 percent from the field (23-for-43), including 7-for-14 from beyond the arc.

Northeastern led 57-45 with 7:36 to play, before a 14-2 Charleston run–capped by a 3-pointer from Evan Bailey–tied the game at 59-apiece with 2:12 showing on the clock.

The Huskies responded with five straight points, including a layup from Eatherton and free throws by Stahl, to reclaim a 64-59 lead with 35 seconds remaining.

The Cougars did not go quietly, however, as triples by Bailey and Chealey narrowed the gap to two with three seconds to play.

After Northeastern missed a pair of free throws with one second remaining, Charleston came up short on a desperation, full-court heave as time expired.

In addition to its five double-figure scorers, Northeastern also received solid contributions off the bench from freshman Devon Begley (seven points) and redshirt sophomore Kwesi Abakah (four points).

Begley made his presence felt early in the first half, spotting up and drilling a 3-pointer from the left corner to give the Huskies a 13-10 lead at the 12:27 mark of the first frame.

On the ensuing possession, Begley fed Abakah in the post for a pretty hook shot from the left blocks to extend the lead to five.

The Huskies led 38-31 at the break, but Charleston quickly made things interesting out of the locker room with a 12-5 run to bring the score to 43-41.

Northeastern answered with a 14-4 spurt of its own to regain control at 57-45 following a 3-pointer from Walker and a steal and dunk from Ford with 7:36 to play.

Winners of four straight, and six of their last seven, the Huskies will take a pause from CAA play on Monday to host non-conference foe Detroit for an MLK matinee at 2 p.m.
