BOSTON – Senior Reggie Spencer returned from a three-game absence to score 13 points as Northeastern (14-6, 6-1 CAA) earned the regular season sweep of James Madison (11-9, 4-3 CAA) with an impressive 82-59 victory in CAA play Thursday at Matthews Arena.

Spencer connected on his first five shots to finish with a season high in points as the Huskies earned their fifth straight CAA victory. The senior was one of 10 Huskies to record at least one field goal as NU posted a season-high 29 bench points.

Sophomore T.J. Williams led the Red & Black with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while junior David Walker scored 15 points and connected on three 3-pointers.

Ron Curry dropped 21 points to lead the visitors, including a perfect 5-for-5 performance from behind the arc.

Northeastern out-rebounded James Madison by a 34-27 margin and shot 53 percent for the game (31-for-59), including 9-of-17 (53 percent) from 3-point territory.

The Huskies assisted on 20 of their 31 field goals, led by senior Scott Eatherton who dished out a career-high seven assists to go along with six points and six rebounds.

Northeastern started fast and never looked back, scoring 19 of the game's first 23 points to take a commanding 15-point lead just seven minutes into the contest.

Spencer immediately impacted the game with a layup on his first touch, before stepping out and hitting a mid-range jumper at the 12:42 mark.

The Huskies pushed the lead to 25-6 with a 17-2 run capped by a 3-pointer from freshman Devon Begley and an old-fashioned 3-point play from redshirt sophomore Kwesi Abakah.

Begley then hit an off-balance shot in the lane as part of a 3-point play to give NU a commanding 38-16 cushion with 6:30 remaining in the first half.

Curry did his best to bring JMU back, draining a pair of triples as part of a 7-0 run to make it 40-26 Huskies with under four minutes to play in the frame.

The Dukes would get no closer the rest of the way, however, as the hosts pushed their lead to as many as 28 at 74-46 with 9:20 left in the game.

Redshirt junior Caleb Donnelly and sophomore Jimmy Marshall added buckets later in the half to cement an impressive team effort.

The Huskies will look to make it six straight CAA wins on Saturday at William & Mary. The game will air live on NBCSN starting at 2 p.m.
