BOSTON – Two teams with matching 4-1-1 CAA records collide Friday when Hofstra (10-4-1) visits Northeastern (11-4-1) for a 6 p.m. battle for first place in the conference standings. Both teams enter the matchup receiving votes in the latest NSCAA National Top-25 Poll, and both teams are also ranked in the top three (NU No. 2, Hofstra No. 3) in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll.
FREE SHUTTLES TO PARSONS FIELDFree shuttle buses will run to Parsons Field from Chicken Lou's starting at 5 p.m. on Friday. Buses will leave every 15 minutes in the hour leading up to kickoff.
REMATCH OF 2014 TITLE GAMENortheastern and Hofstra will meet for the first time since squaring off in the 2014 CAA championship, which was also played at Parsons Field. In that game,

HISTORY VS. HOFSTRAThe Huskies and Pride will meet for the 20th time on Friday with Hofstra leading the all-time series, 10-7-2. Old America East rivals, NU and Hofstra first collided on Sept. 16, 1996 in the fifth game in Northeastern's varsity history. The Pride owned many of the early matchups, however the Huskies have turned the tables of late, posting a 3-1-1 mark in their last five meetings with their Long Island rivals.
PLAYOFF PICTURE TAKES SHAPEEntering the second half of the CAA schedule, the postseason picture is beginning to take shape. Northeastern and Hofstra are tied for first place with 13 points apiece, while James Madison and UNCW sit just behind with 10 points each. William & Mary remains the wild card in the playoff picture as the Tribe have played two fewer games due to weather cancelations. Despite having five true road games remaining on its schedule, W&M controls its own destiny for first place if it can win out. The top six teams will make the CAA playoffs, with the top two seeds receiving byes to the semifinals.
LOPICCOLO EARNS CAA HONORSSophomore
Hannah Lopiccolo was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week on Monday after netting two game-winning goals last week against JMU and Towson. On Oct. 9, Lopiccolo scored the decisive goal in the eighth minute of a 1-0 win over the Dukes, handing JMU its first conference loss of the season. Lopiccolo then played hero yet again on Oct. 11, bagging the golden-goal in the 101st minute of a 3-2 victory at Towson. Lopiccolo is tied for the team lead with six goals this season, including three game-winners.
NU GARNERS NATIONAL ATTENTIONThe Huskies received a vote in the latest NSCAA National Top-25 poll, released on Oct. 13. Northeastern also held strong at No. 2 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll. The Huskies have been ranked in the region for eight straight weeks this season, but have never climbed higher than second. Hofstra (No. 3), William & Mary (No. 4), James Madison (No. 5) and UNCW (No. 6) were also ranked in the top 10 this week, giving the CAA five of the top six slots.
FIRST ON THE BOARDNortheastern has scored within the first 10 minutes in six matches this season, including both wins last weekend.

Breeana Koemans notched NU's opener in the 10th minute of a 3-2 win at Towson on Oct. 11. The Huskies are 11-1-0 in 2015 when scoring the first goal, compared to 0-3-0 when conceding first.
WORKING OVERTIMEAfter knocking off Towson in extra time on Sunday, Northeastern improved to 5-0-1 in overtime games this season. Four different Huskies have scored OT winners in 2015:

Hannah Lopiccolo (Towson). In addition to outscoring opponents by a 5-0 margin in extra time, the Huskies have also outshot their adversaries by a 24-6 edge in OT.
KOEMANS CONTINUES CAREER YEARRedshirt junior
Breeana Koemans had three points on Sunday, Oct. 11 as the Huskies earned a 3-2 win at Towson. Koemans opened the scoring in the 10th minute, before assisting on
Mackenzie Dowd's 40th-minute strike with a perfectly placed corner kick. After posting five points in her first two seasons with NU, Koemans has erupted for nine points (three goals, three assists) in 2015. Koemans' biggest goal to date came on Sept. 20 when she scored the golden-goal in the 101st minute of a 1-0 win at New Hampshire.
NIDETCH SHUTS OUT JMUFreshman goalkeeper
Nathalie Nidetch posted her first career 90-minute shutout in the Huskies' 1-0 win at James Madison on Oct. 9. Nidetch made a season-high six saves in the match to earn her third straight victory. Nidetch then picked up her fourth consecutive win with three stops in a 3-2 victory at Towson on Oct. 11.
