BOSTON – After earning six crucial points in the CAA standings last weekend, the Northeastern women's soccer team (9-4-1, 2-1-1 CAA) will look to keep the momentum rolling when it travels to James Madison (Friday, 7 p.m.) and Towson (Sunday, 1 p.m.) to close out the road portion of its conference slate.
HISTORY VS. JMUNortheastern is 7-6-0 all-time against James Madison. In the most recent meeting between the teams, the Huskies topped the Dukes, 2-0, at Parsons Field on Oct. 5, 2014.
Lahaina Zoller gave the hosts the lead seven minutes into the game, before
Mackenzie Dowd doubled the advantage with a second-half penalty kick.
The last time NU visited JMU, the Huskies were crowned CAA champions following a 3-1 victory in the 2013 conference title game. Zoller again netted the decisive goal as the Red & Black won the first of their two consecutive CAA championships.
HISTORY VS. TOWSONTowson owns an 8-6-1 advantage all-time vs. Northeastern, however the Huskies have won the last three meetings. Last season, NU secured a 4-0 victory over the Tigers on Oct. 3 at Parsons Field.

PLAYOFF PICTURE BEGINS TO TAKE SHAPEApproaching the halfway point of the CAA schedule, the playoff picture is beginning to take shape. James Madison enters the weekend as the No. 1 team with a perfect 3-0-0 record and nine points in the standings. Hofstra (3-1-0) is level on points with JMU, but with one more game played, while both Northeastern (2-1-1) and UNCW (2-1-1) sit just behind with seven points apiece. The College of Charleston (2-2-0) currently occupies the No. 5 spot with six points, while both William & Mary (1-1-0) and Drexel (1-3-0) are sixth with three points each. The top six teams will advance to the 2015 CAA Championship.
HUSKIES ASCEND IN MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL POLLNortheastern moved up three spots to No. 2 in the latest NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll, as announced Tuesday. At No. 2, NU is the highest-ranked CAA team in the poll as last week's No. 1, Hofstra, fell to third after dropping a 2-1 decision to UNCW. William & Mary (No. 4), James Madison (No. 5) and UNCW (No. 7) were also ranked, giving the CAA five of the top seven spots in the poll.
DOWD PICKS UP MULTIPLE HONORSJunior
Mackenzie Dowd was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week on Monday, and was also placed on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week on Tuesday. Dowd scored two big goals in Northeastern's come-from-behind victory over UNCW on Sunday. The Gig Harbor, Washington, native converted an 86th-minute penalty kick to level the score at 2-2, before scoring the overtime winner 53 seconds into extra time to give the hosts a 3-2 win.
GORMAN NAMED CAA ROOKIE OF THE WEEKFreshman
Nicole Gorman was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Monday after contributing to two goals last weekend. Gorman scored NU's first goal in a 3-2 win over UNCW on Sunday, and had the shot that led to a Charleston own-goal on Friday in a 2-1 triumph. With two goals and three assists this season, Gorman ranks fifth on the team with seven points.
