Mens's Results BOSTON – The Northeastern women's and men's cross country teams earned top-25 team finishes and top-35 individual finishes at the 2015 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Friday afternoon, hosted by Boston College at Franklin Park.
The women's side earned 16th place out of the 38 teams, just ahead of hometown foes UMass Amherst (19th) and Boston University (26th), while the men earned 22nd out of 37 teams, ahead of New England opponents Vermont (24th) and New Hampshire (30th).
"I am very pleased at how our women's team raced today, especially Jordan, Brooke and Emma. They really did a great job," said head coach
Cathrine Erickson. "I am extremely proud of Nephat and how he raced. This was arguably one of the best races of his career." she added.
Jordan O'Dea crossed the finish line first for the women's team in 21:38.0, taking home 32nd out of the 259 runners.
Nephat Maritim was first for the men's team with a time of 31:28.6, slating him 31st out of the 255 opponents.
Christian Stafford followed Maritim with 31:57.6 in his first 10k of the season.
"Christian's race was a strong one and we believe he will be even stronger next year," said Erickson.
NU's next outing will be the IC4A/ECAC Championships in Richmond, Virginia on Nov. 21.
"We are really looking forward to next week as we head into the IC4A Championships with many of the student-athletes who have either run this week or at the CAA Championships," said Erickson.
