Goal Recaps• Northeastern struck first on the power play in the opening two minutes of the game when Scamurra tossed a cross-ice feed to Hartman at the top of the left circle. Hartman settled the puck and unleashed a wrister through traffic, under the blocker of Maine netminder Meghann Treacy (19 saves) to make it 1-0 at 1:49.Â
• The Black Bears evened the scoreline five minutes later when Brooke Stacey ripped a shot by Bugalski from the right point after a feed from Cassidy Herman.Â
• MacMillan put the Huskies back in front at 12:42 of the second period. After some good work along the left boards, sophomore
McKenna Brand shoveled a feed along the wall to Scamurra, who tipped the disc back to MacMillan at the blue line. The sophomore then zipped a high wrister through traffic that fooled Treacy to make it 2-1.
• Northeastern tacked on a key insurance goal with 4:10 remaining in the third to round out the scoring. After taking a feed from MacMillan along the right boards, freshman
Kasidy Anderson muscled by a defender and cut hard to the Maine net. While being dragged to the ice, Anderson dished a feed to a streaking Zalewski, who roofed a quick wrister to make it 3-1.
