About the Carisella Invitational
The meet is named in honor of 2007 Northeastern track middle-distance runner Jay Carisella, who tragically died on Dec. 23, 2007 in an automobile accident. A leader by example, Jay was of outstanding character and a positive influence on all around him. A three-sport student-athlete in high school, Jay understood the value of athletics and education. Beyond the acclaim he received for his distance running, Jay's most valuable asset on the team was his character. Jay had a big heart and dedicated much of his time to volunteer in the community.
