BOSTON – Behind 22 points and 10 rebounds by Quincy Ford, the Northeastern men's basketball team tallied its largest home victory over Harvard in nearly 57 years, an 80-71 throttling of the Crimson in front of 2,383 people on banner raising night at Matthews Arena.

The Huskies overcame a sluggish start to finish with the nine-point win and improve to 6-1 on the season, the best start of the Bill Coen era, and first time the Huskies have started 6-1 since the 2005-06 season.

David Walker finished with 14 points and five assists, while freshman Jeremy Miller finished the game with 12 points after tallying 11 in the first half alone, setting a new career-high and the first double-digit effort of his young career.

Devon Begley rounded out the pack with 10 points, including a one-handed slam that gave Northeastern a 10-point, second half lead.

Zena Edosomwan led Harvard with 18 points and seven rebounds on the night.

The Huskies and Crimson went back-and-forth for the majority of the first half, trading buckets before Harvard went off for seven straight points, forcing Coen to call a timeout.

Coming out of the break, Northeastern cut into the lead with a Ford 3-pointer, and then after a Harvard basket, a Begley layup and another Ford three made it a three-point game with 3:46 left in the first half.

Two minutes later, the Huskies tied things up with 1:51 on another layup by Begley and and took its first lead since the 13-minute mark, when Begley hit both of his free throws.

Northeastern headed into halftime with a four-point lead behind a buzzer beating jumper by David Walker to finish out the first stanza.

After the halftime banner raising ceremony, in front of Huskies past and present, Northeastern came out energized and extended its lead to nine, sealed with a Walker three-pointer.

The Begley dunk jumpstarted an 11-2 run by the Huskies as Northeastern surged to a 17-point lead, its largest of the game, with 6:24 remaining in action and went on to coast to the 80-71 win.
