BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team knocked down a season-high 13 3-pointers en route to a 77-65 win over Vermont Tuesday afternoon at Matthews Arena.

The 13 threes were the most since Northeastern hit a school record 14 3s against New Hampshire on Feb. 24, 2005.

The Huskies (8-4) were paced by seniors Quincy Ford and Caleb Donnelly who hit on a career-high seven and five threes respectively.

Ford's seven treys matched David Walker's individual game-high this season and were the third most all-time tied with six other Husky point-getters. Ford finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Today marked his third 20-point game of the year and 10th all-time. He has tallied double-digit scoring each game this season.

Donnelly finished with 15 points, on 5-of-7 shooting from behind the arc, a career-best. Zach Stahl chipped in 14 to go along with five assists and four rebounds while David Walker finished with 11 and six assists. Northeastern tallied a season-high 18 assists on the day.

Vermont (6-7) had four double-digit scorers on the day, led by Ernie Duncan's 19, behind 5-of-10 shooting from behind the arc, while Trae Bell-Haynes finished with 16 points.

The Catamounts jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first half, but a pair of free throws and a Stahl layup tied things up at four-all forcing the Catamounts to call their first timeout of the game.

UVM earned yet another lead, taking a 14-9 advantage but the Huskies battled back into the game tying things up with a Ford 3-pointer and taking a four-point advantage of their own via back-to-back threes from Caleb Donnelly.

Northeastern's fourth three in a row, this time from Ford, gave the Huskies a seven-point advantage with 8:30 left in the first stanza.

Another Ford three enlarged Northeastern's lead to its largest of the game, 38-30 with 3:35 remaining in the first half. Vermont responded, but Ford wasn't done. Hitting his fourth three of the half, Ford extended the lead to eight once again, though Vermont would cut that to five at the half.

In the second half, Vermont rallied to even the score at 50-all as the Huskies only managed one basket, a three by Donnelly, in the first eight minutes and 44 seconds of action.

With 11:15 remaining in the game, Donnelly and Ford went off combining for three straight 3-point baskets to give the Huskies a six-point advantage.

Over the course of 10:06 to 4:51, what was a 53-53 ballgame, became a 71-55 advantage in favor of the Huskies as they cruised on to the victory.

The Huskies return to action in a week following the holiday break when they head out on their three-game North Carolina swing beginning Dec. 29 at NC State.
