ELON, N.C. – The Northeastern men's basketball team will round out 2015 with its first conference game of the year at Elon on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.

The game marks the first conference opener in the state of North Carolina for the Huskies, and the earliest conference opener since the 2011-12 season.
 
Northeastern is coming off of a hard fought, 72-66 loss to NC State in its non-conference finale on Tuesday night.
 
QUICK HITS
• This is the 96th season of Northeastern men's basketball. Northeastern has an all-time record of 1,162-1,075 (.520) in 2,237 games.
• This will be the third meeting between the two teams in program history, in a series that began last season
• Northeastern is 1-1 all-time against Elon
• NU is 24-12 all-time in conference openers and 6-4 all-time in CAA openers
• Northeastern has won their last three conference opening games
• The Huskies are coming off of a 72-66 loss to NC State in the team's non-conference finale in Raleigh Tuesday night.
• Coen tallied his 150th career win (all at Northeastern) with a 78-77 upset over No. 15/19 Miami on Nov. 27.
• The Huskies are 362-244 (.597) all-time in conference play including a 104-74 (.584) record since joining the CAA in the 2005-06 season.
• The Huskies have amassed 12 regular season conference championships and eight tournament titles including last season's title which sent the Huskies to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 24 years.

• Improve the Huskies' record to 9-5 on the season
• Improve Northeastern to 1-0 in the CAA for the fourth-straight season
• Improve NU's record to 7-4 all-time in CAA openers
• Give the Huskies a 2-1 record against Elon
• Give Northeastern its first win in the state of North Carolina for the Huskies since a 83-82 win over UNC Asheville on Feb. 19, 2011
• Give NU its first road win since defeating No. 15 Miami on November 27
 
HUSKIES IN CAA OPENERS
• Northeastern is 6-4 all-time in CAA openers and 5-4 under Bill Coen in its conference debut
• The Huskies enter Thursday afternoon's game on a three-game CAA opening win-streak
• The game against Elon marks the first against the Phoenix in a CAA opener and the first CAA opener in the state of North Carolina
• Overall, Northeastern is 24-12 in conference openers, 18-8 in the America East Conference.
• Northeastern has faced James Madison the most of any opponent in CAA openers
• The 2015-16 CAA opener is the earliest since a 12/3/11 meeting with Old Dominion
 
THIS WEEK IN HUSKY BASKETBALL
• Northeastern rounded out its non-conference schedule against NC State on Tuesday in its first of three games this week
• The Huskies dropped a 72-66 decision to the hot-shooting Wolfpack to finish 8-4 in their non-conference schedule for the second straight season
• Caleb Donnelly earned his 1st career start and finished with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from behind the arc.
• Quincy Ford led the Husky scorers with 15 points to keep his double-digit scoring streak going at 13 straight games, while David Walker also notched 13 points on the night.
• Donnell Gresham Jr. made his collegiate debut finishing with nine points in 20 minutes of play
 
POW! ONCE AGAIN
• After helping to lead the Huskies to a 77-65 victory over Vermont (Dec. 22), redshirt senior Quincy Ford was named the CAA Player of the Week for the second time this season
• The honor was also his second career CAA Player of the Week honor
• Ford finished with a team-high 23 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals.
• 21 of Ford's 23 points came from behind the arc as he hit a career-high seven 3-pointers, third most in Northeastern history.
 
HUSKIES FROM THREE!
• Against Vermont (Dec. 22), Northeastern combined for 13 threes on the day, one shy of the school record (14 vs. UNH on both Feb. 5, 2002 & Feb. 24, 2005)
• Northeastern was led by Quincy Ford (23 points, 7-of-12 3fg) and Caleb Donnelly (career-high 15 points, 5-of-7 3fg)
• David Walker also added a trey to the total
• The seven 3s for Ford and five for Donnelly were a career-best mark.
• Ford's also tied Walker's individual season-high seven set vs. Detroit and were the third most ever in Northeastern history tying six other players, including Walker.
 
RAINING THREES
•The Huskies have made 113 field goals from behind the arc in 2015-16. The 113 made 3s ranks third in the CAA and 42nd nationally
• Nine different Huskies have hit a three this season led by David Walker's 37 and Quincy Ford's 31.
• Walker's 37 3FGs ranks third in the conference and 38th nationally, while Ford's ranks 7th in the CAA and 106th nationally
• Walker makes an average of 2.85 3FG a game, fourth in the CAA and 50th nationally. He ranks fourth all-time in the Northeastern record books with 190 career 3s
• Ford is currently averaging 2.38 3FG per game, 9th in the CAA and 159th nationally
• Six different Huskies hit a three-point shot against Western Michigan, the first time since Feb. 20, 2013 that six different Northeastern players connected from behind the arc in a single game.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
• Freshman Jeremy Miller was tabbed the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the week following his performance last week
• Miller was the third Husky to earn CAA Weekly honors this season and was the first Rookie to do so
• The Milton, Mass. native averaged 15.0 points per game and 4.5 rebounds in his first two career starts this past week as the Huskies split with Western Michigan and Stony Brook.
• For the week, Miller shot 61.1 percent (11-of-18) from the field and was 4-of-8 from three-point range.
• Miller was the first Husky to earn Rookie of the Week honors since T.J. Williams, Feb. 20, 2013
 
SEEING DOUBLE-DOUBLE
• Quincy Ford has three double-doubles this season through the first ten games of the year, a career-high for the redshirt senior
• Ford had two double-doubles in his freshman (2011-12) and sophomore (2012-13) campaigns
• The three double-doubles are the most since Scott Eatherton had five last season
 
IN THE STARTING LINEUP
• Northeastern freshman Jeremy Miller made his first career start at Western Michigan (Dec. 7)
• He was the first freshman to start a game since T.J. Williams made his starting line up debut on Nov. 22, 2013 against Charlotte in the Puerto Rico Tip-off
• With T.J. Williams sidelined due to an injury, redshirt senior Caleb Donnelly earned his first career start at NC State (Dec. 29) in his 43rd game of action
 
TAKING ADVANTAGE OF CHARITY
• Northeastern teammates rank 2-3 in the CAA for their free throw shooting percentage thus far in 2015-16
• Zach Stahl has been consistent at the charity stripe for Northeastern this year and is 36-42 on the year for a 85.7 FT%, 2nd in the conference and 68th in the country
• David Walker is 59-70 on the season from the free-throw line, with an 84.3 FT percentage which ranks thid the conference and 95th in the country.
• His 59 free throws made rank second in the conference and 58th in the country
• The Huskies, as a team, have taken 285 free throws, fourth in the conference and have capitalized on 198 of them (fourth in the CAA) for a 69.5 % free throw percentage, also second in the CAA
• Northeastern has held its opponents to just 200 free throw attempts this year.
 
MOVING ON UP
• Quincy Ford has improved from 23rd, where he began the season on the Northeastern all-time scoring chart, to 13th place with 1,351 career points.
• Ford has tallied 194 points this season, and with his 23-point day against Vermont, he passed Joel Smith's 1,328 career points earned from 2009-13.
• Walker began the year in 29th, and with his 252 points this year, has moved into the Top-15 with 1,292 points.
• The duo also finds themselves on the career 3-point field goals list
• Ford can be found on the career blocks chart where he just moved into fifth place all-time

GET THAT OUTTA HERE
• Using a career-high, five block performance against Stony Brook, Quincy Ford now has 15 blocks on the year, fifth in the CAA this season
• Zach Stahl has notched nine on the season, which ranks 15th in the conference and recorded at least one block in four consecutive games (Nov. 20-27)
• Rookie Anthony Green has tallied eight blocks on the season, and was the team leader prior to Ford's career day.
 
APPLYING PRESSURE
• The Huskies are second in the CAA in thefts and rank 56th nationally, stealing the ball away from their opponent already 99 times on the season, or 7.6 per game.
• David Walker and Quincy Ford lead the way for the Huskies ranking second in the conference and 62nd nationally with 23 steals.
• The steals come from added pressure and Northeastern has forced 13.8 turnovers per game
 
EXTRA TIME
• Through the first nine games of the season, the Huskies forced overtime twice.
• Northeastern earned a victory in the first OT game of the year, an 87-84 season-opening win over Boston University
• The Huskies fell 87-86 in overtime to Western Michigan Monday Dec. 2.
• Northeastern is 39-29 all-time in overtime periods
 
ALL AROUND THE COUNTRY
• Although Northeastern is located in Boston, Mass. in the northeastern part of the United States, the Huskies, and the starting lineup in particular, come from all around the country.
• The Northeastern roster is represented by eight different states, two of which are found in the northeast.
• Northeastern's starting lineup for the first eight games hails from five different states, Ohio, Texas, Florida, Minnesota and Georgia. 
• After Jeremy Miller joined the starting lineup in Game 9, Northeastern had some local talent represented in the starting lineup (Miilton, Mass.)
 
WALKER ON FIRE
• Senior David Walker is currently second the conference and is 41st in the country with his 19.4 ppg average while his 252 total points are first in the conference and rank 24th nationally.
• His 78 field goals made, ranks second in the conference and ranks 70th in the nation.
• Walker has helped himself, and his team, picking off his opponents 23 times this season, second in the conference and 62nd in the nation.
• Walker's free throw shooting is also impressive as his 84.9 FT% is 3rd in the CAA and 95th in the country
• Walker began the season setting a new career high with 27 points against Boston University in a season opening, overtime victory over the crosstown rivals.
• Walker averaged 23.3 points over the course of the Men Against Breast Cancer Challenge also collecting 11 rebounds, 11 assists and nine steals while shooting .561 from the field and .450 from behind the arc.
• Walker set a new career high against Lipscomb tallying 30-points, his first 30-point effort and the first for a Husky in nearly eight seasons.
• Walker notched another 30-point game with a 31-point effort at Western Michigan (Dec. 7) becoming the first Husky with multiple 30-point games in a single season since J.J. Barea in 2004-05. Barea finished with six 30-point games that season.
• The senior tallied at least 20-points in three straight games (Nov. 21-27) after securing 21 points against No. 15/19 Miami using 11-of-12 free throw shooting.
