Kendall Coyne passed Hilary Witt as Northeastern's all-time leading goal scorer as the No. 7/8 Huskies (13-4-1, 9-2-0 WHEA) rallied by Vermont (3-15-0, 3-7-0 WHEA), 2-1, on Saturday at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
The Huskies trailed, 1-0, into the third period, before
Coyne tied the game on a shorthanded breakaway to pass Witt with her 114th career goal. The tally also moved Coyne ahead of Kelli Stack for the all-time scoring lead in Hockey East play with 134 career points. Boston College's Alex Carpenter also passed Stack on Saturday and shares the all-time lead with Coyne with half of the season still to play.
Less than two minutes after Coyne's equalizer, sophomore
McKenna Brand completed the comeback with a snipe from the left circle to help the Huskies secure the season sweep of Vermont with a gutsy win.Â

Sarah Foss was outstanding for the second straight game, making 26 stops to earn her third victory of the season.
Goal Recaps• Vermont took a 1-0 lead at 8:12 of the second period when Casey Leveillee took a pass from Bella Webster and snapped a shot by Foss.Â
• The lead held until early in the third period, when Coyne turned the tables with a record-breaking finish. On a shorthanded breakaway, Coyne made a nifty deke and tucked a shot inside the left post at the 6:05 mark to break the Northeastern goal record.
• Just 1:54 later, Brand gave NU the lead for good with a snipe under the crossbar from the low left slot to make it 2-1 Huskies with 12:01 remaining.
