The Huskies battled the Tribe to the end, but with each bucket Northeastern made, William & Mary went on a run of its own.

Northeastern had multiple players put together strong performances, highlighted by 17 points from senior
A'lece Mark. It's the fifth time in seven games the Springfield, Massachusetts, native has ended her afternoon in double-figures. She wrapped up her day connecting on five of her 10 attempts.

The Huskies also received a late push from senior guard
Amencie Mercier, who scored all seven of her points in the second half. Most of the guard's damage came from the free-throw line, where she went four-for-four.

Samantha DeFreese and
Tanisha Hopewell built off solid games on Friday, chipping in eight and four points, respectively. DeFreese finished shooting four-of-nine from the floor, while Hopewell converted on two of her three attempts.

Francesca Sally and
Maureen Taggart also added a combined seven points. Taggart corralled six rebounds to lead the Huskies.

As a team, the Huskies grabbed 31 boards to 28 by the Tribe. The reserves for head coach
Kelly Cole proved to be critical as they accounted for 25 points. Northeastern finished shooting 38 percent from the floor and committed 24 turnovers during the course of the afternoon.

Despite creating open looks with swift passes and effective offense, the Huskies entered the first half trailing by 12, 20-32. Northeastern's shots just would not fall as the team finished connecting on nine of its 21 attempts from the floor. DeFreese led the charge for Northeastern with six points on three-of-six shooting.

Joining DeFreese at the top of the stat sheet was Hopewell with four points, while Taggart and Mark both chipped in three points apiece. The Huskies finished with 10 of their points in the paint, as well as nine points from the reserves.

Northeastern won the rebound battle, 14-12, but committed 13 turnovers to eight by the Tribe.

The regular season will come to a close for Northeastern on Wednesday, March 4 when the Huskies host the Drexel Dragons. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Prior to the game, NU will honor its senior class of

Tanisha Hopewell and
A'lece Mark. Following Wednesday's game, it's a quick break for the Huskies before heading to Upper Marlboro, Maryland, to compete in the CAA postseason tournament.
