Scott Eatherton of the Northeastern men's basketball team was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District Team, as announced Tuesday.
Eatherton was named to the District I team, which represents the states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
A First Team All-CAA selection, Eatherton leads the Huskies with 14.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in 34 starts this season. The Hershey, Pennsylvania, native scored 40 points in three CAA tournament games to help the Huskies clinch their first-ever CAA crown and their eighth trip to the Big Dance in program history. As a result, Eatherton was named to the All-Tournament Team along with teammates
Quincy Ford and
David Walker.
Eatherton ranks 14th in the NCAA this season with a 59.4 percent shooting clip. The senior has five double-doubles so far this season, and is one of 14 active players with at least 30 double-doubles in their career.
The 2015 CAA champions will learn their NCAA tournament opponent on Sunday, March 15 when the selection show airs live on CBS at 6 p.m.
