PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Winners of six straight games, the No. 7 Northeastern women's hockey team (17-4-1, 12-2-0 WHEA) will look to continue its hot play on Wednesday when it visits Providence (8-13-0, 4-7-0 WHEA) for a 7 p.m. contest.

HUSKIES ASCEND TO NO. 7 IN BOTH POLLS
After posting a 3-0-0 record last week, the Huskies moved up one spot to No. 7 in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey national polls. Northeastern has now been ranked in both polls for 11 straight weeks, and has not dropped below No. 8 in either poll since Oct. 26.

COYNE, KRAUSE EARN WHEA WEEKLY HONORS
Seniors Kendall Coyne and Jordan Krause were honored on Monday in the Hockey East weekly awards as Coyne was named the Warrior Co-Player of the Week, and Krause was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week. Coyne racked up six points on four goals and two assists in three games last week to earn her fifth Warrior Player of the Week accolade this season. Over the same span, Krause compiled a goal and three assists, while posting an impressive plus-10 rating, to take home her third Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.

COYNE BREAKS PROGRAM SCORING RECORD
Senior Kendall Coyne scored her 11th career hat trick as part of a four-point game on Jan. 10 at UNH to surpass Hilary Witt '00 as the program's all-time leading point scorer (211 points). Coyne broke the record with the eventual game-winning goal early in the third period, before adding an assist and an empty-netter to finish the day three points clear of Witt (208 points) at the top of the record book.

HUSKIES EARN WEEKEND SWEEP OF UNH
Northeastern extended its winning streak to six straight games last week with a pair of wins over New Hampshire. The Huskies claimed a 4-2 win at Matthews Arena on Jan. 9 as junior Hayley Scamurra scored two goals. Northeastern then beat UNH 5-2 the following day as senior Kendall Coyne notched a hat trick and an assist. Scamurra finished the weekend with four points as well with a goal and an assist in Sunday's victory.

TERRIFIC TANDEM
Northeastern's goaltending tandem of junior Sarah Foss and freshman Brittany Bugalski has been outstanding during the Huskies' six-game winning streak. Foss is 4-0-0 during the run with a 1.50 GAA and a .943 save percentage (100 saves on 106 shots). Bugalski is 2-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and a .935 save percentage (43 saves on 46 shots). As a team, the Huskies have not allowed more than two goals in any of the last six games.

HOT ON THE KILL
Northeastern has been excellent on the penalty kill during its six-game winning streak, having successfully negated all 18 of its opponents' power play opportunities during that span. On the season, the Huskies have killed 70 of 79 penalties (88.6%), good for the second-best mark in Hockey East and the ninth-best mark in the nation.
