PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Northeastern's top line of Denisa Krizova, Hayley Scamurra and Kendall Coyne accounted for five goals and seven assists as the No. 7 Northeastern women's hockey team (18-4-1, 13-2-0 WHEA) overpowered Providence (8-14-0, 4-8-0 WHEA), 5-1, on Wednesday at Schneider Arena.

Coyne tallied five points on two goals and three assists–her second career five-point game–while Scamurra accounted for a goal and three helpers for her first collegiate four-point performance. Not to be outdone, Krizova added two goals and an assist, including the game-winning goal in the first period, as Northeastern won its seventh straight game.

Junior Sarah Foss (20 saves) played brilliantly in goal and came within one second of posting her first collegiate shutout, before Providence scored a power-play goal at 19:59 of the third period to bring the score to 5-1.

Goal Recaps
• Northeastern took the lead at 7:08 of the first period when Scamurra blasted home a rebound at the left of the net on the power play.

• The Huskies pushed the advantage to 3-0 at 6:03 of the second period when senior Jordan Krause hit Coyne streaking into the Providence zone with speed on the right wing. Coyne then fired a hard wrister inside the left post for her 30th goal of the season.
• Krizova potted her second of the game 1:56 into the third, taking a feed from Coyne and shifting forehand to backhand for a beautiful finish at the right of the net.
• Coyne added her fifth point of the night at 6:31 of the third. After taking a beautiful saucer pass from Krizova, Coyne settled the disc and sniped a shot over the shoulder of PC netminder Madison Myers to make it 5-0.
• Providence's Brooke Boquist poked home a loose puck as time expired in the third to round out the scoring.
