BOSTON – Returning to Cabot Center following a split last weekend at Drexel and Delaware, the Northeastern women's basketball team will welcome the Tribe of William & Mary to Beantown on Friday, Jan. 15, as the two CAA squads clash in a 7 p.m. conference game. NU has started the year 1-2 during league play, and can pick off one of the six league-leading 2-1 teams with a win on Friday.

ALL-TIME AGAINST WILLIAM & MARYÂ
NU leads the all-time series against William & Mary, 8-7, with all 15 prior meetings occurring during the Huskies' tenure in the CAA (since 2005-06). Northeastern's eight league victories against William & Mary are the second most NU has earned against current CAA-member schools, having defeated UNCW nine times since joining the conference. The Huskies and Tribe have also never met in the CAA tournament.

SCOUTING THE TRIBEÂ
William & Mary enters Friday's game with an 11-3 record, tied with Hofstra for the best overall mark in the CAA. The Tribe are one of six teams tied atop the league standings with a 2-1 conference record, having kicked off their league schedule with a 65-59 overtime win against defending league champion James Madison. Considering common opponents between William & Mary and Northeastern, the Tribe are 1-1 this year against Towson (W, 73-54) and Drexel (L, 50-67), while the Huskies are also 1-1, flipping results against the Tigers (L, 71-72) and the Dragons (W, 73-65). Junior guard Marlena Tremba was a 2015-16 Preseason All-CAA Second Team selection, and leads the team with 13.6 points and 32.7 minutes per game. Abby Rendle (12.1 points per game) and Alexandra Masaquel (11.6) are both ranked among the league's top 15 scorers, helping William & Mary land in the top three of the conference in scoring margin (+5.9), and field-goal percentage (40.5 percent).

ORTIZ SHOOTS THE LIGHTS OUTÂ

Claudia Ortiz celebrated a career day on Jan. 10 against Delaware, setting new career highs in points (27), field goals made (10), 3-point field goals made (five), and field-goal percentage (.714). Although the Carolina, Puerto Rico native was kept scoreless during the first quarter against the Blue Hens, she went on to score six points during the second, 12 points during the third, and nine points during the fourth on a combined 10-of-14 shooting. Ortiz's previous scoring high was 19 points against Siena on Nov. 15, 2015.

THAT MAGIC (THIRD) QUARTERÂ
On Jan. 10 against Delaware, the Huskies outscored the Blue Hens, 18-10, during the third quarter, erasing an eight-point halftime deficit to tie the game at 41-41. This season, Northeastern has come out of the locker room firing on several occasions, outscoring four opponents this year by 10 points or more. Claudia Ortiz's 27-point scoring effort on Jan. 10 against Delaware, Northeastern has observed five different leading scorers during its last five games. During the Huskies' last seven games dating back to Dec. 9, NU has seen six different leading scorers, with
Francesca Sally leading the team twice during the stretch. This season, Northeastern has also seen seven different players lead the team in scoring at least once, including all four freshmen.

Northeastern's 56 rebounds on Jan. 8 against Drexel were two less than the program record, 58, which was set on Nov. 30, 2003 against Quinnipiac. They were the most NU had recorded in a single game since the Huskies grabbed 57 in an overtime loss against William & Mary on Feb. 1, 2015.

HUSKIES SNAP ROAD SKID AT DREXELÂ
NU snapped a 10-game losing streak at Drexel on Jan. 8. Prior to then, the Huskies had not won a road game at Drexel since Jan. 28, 2000.

Three NU players played more than 40 minutes against Drexel on Jan. 8:

Claudia Ortiz (42). Genco leads all NCAA freshmen in minutes per game (38.4), and is ranked third among all Division I players in the same category as of Jan. 14.

DEFREESE REACHES 900 CAREER POINTSÂ

Samantha DeFreese eclipsed the 900-career point milestone on Jan. 8 against Drexel. Her 18-point performance left her with 906 career points after the final horn. DeFreese was held scoreless against Delaware on Jan. 10, and will look to continue chasing down Northeastern's 1,000-point club on Friday against William & Mary.
