Men's resultsBOSTON – The Northeastern women's and men's track and field programs finished in second (105.50 points) and third (86.50 points), respectively, at the teams' very own Joe Donahue Games on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center.
The Huskies registered a new meet record, 11 new personal bests and won five events overall. The University of Central Florida earned first place on the women's side with 154 points and Rhode Island for the men's with 112 points.
This season marks the fifth consecutive year the event has been hosted in honor of Joe Donahue, the late Northeastern track and field legend, throwing coach and Hall of Famer who passed away of pancreatic cancer on Oct. 10, 2011.
Participants' bibs were purple to raise awareness and show support for those affected by pancreatic cancer. Coaches, student-athletes and officials sported purple ribbons and wrist bands for support as well.
