BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team returns to the confines of Matthews Arena Saturday night for a 7 p.m. tip with Elon.
 
Saturday's game will be the Huskies Suits and Sneakers game to support the American Cancer Society. The Husky coaches will be wearing Princess Lacey's laces in their sneakers on Saturday, in memory of Lacey Holsworth, an 8-year old basketball fan who died of cancer.
 
If you would like a pair of your own laces, they are available at all Shoe Carnival Stores and at shoecarnival.com/lacey. The American Cancer Society will receive 85 percent of the proceeds from the campaign, which will go to pediatric cancer initiatives, and Princess Lacey's Legacy will receive 15 percent.
 
The Huskies and Elon will meet for the second time this season as Northeastern looks to go for the series sweep.
                                                                  
Northeastern enters the game with a 12-10 record, 4-5 in CAA play after falling 68-61 to Charleston Thursday night in overtime.   
 
Elon also enters the game with a 12-10 overall record, but are 3-6 in conference action.
 
QUICK HITS
• This is the 96th season of Northeastern men's basketball. NU has an all-time record of 1,167-1,079 (.520) in 2,245 games.
• This will be the fourth meeting between theh two teams in program history
• Northeastern holds a 2-1 edge in the series between the two teams
• The Huskies are 1-0 all-time in Boston against Elon and has won the last game in the series
• The Huskies are coming off of an overtime loss to Charleston 68-61 on Thursday
• Three different Huskies notched double-digit points, led by Jeremy Miller's 17
• Zach Stahl came away with a career-high tying 12 rebounds while also dishing out a team-high six assists
• With Northeaster's win at Delaware, head coach Bill Coen is now holds the title of most conference victories by a Northeastern coach, passing Jim Calhoun (more on page 5)
• Coen tallied his 150th career win (all at Northeastern) with a 78-77 upset over No. 15/19 Miami on Nov. 27.
• The Huskies are 366-248 (.596) all-time in conference play including a 108-78 (.581) record since joining the CAA in the 2005-06 season.
• The Huskies have amassed 12 regular season conference championships and eight tournament titles including last season's title which sent the Huskies to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 24 years.

• Improve the Huskies' record to 13-10 on the season
• Improve Northeastern to 5-5 in CAA play
• Give Northeastern a 3-1 all-time record against Elon
• Mark the Huskies second straight win over the Phoenix
• Improve Northeastern's home record to 6-4 in 2015-16
 
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
• The Phoenix enter their game with the Huskies with a 12-10 record on the season and 3-6 in conference play.
• Elon is led by Tanner Samson who is averaging 13.6 points per game. Three different players are averaging double figures on the season including Samson, Luke Eddy (11.4 ppg) and Dainan Swoope (10.4 ppg)
• Elon has started seven players through the first 22 games of action this season.
• Christian Hairston is leading Elon with 6.6 rebounds per game while Eddy has dished out a team-high 107 assists on the year, which ranks second in the CAA this season.  
 
THIS SEASON
• Elon is 12-10 on the season and 3-6 in conference play, in eighth place in the CAA entering Thursday's game.
• Since their conference season opening loss to the Huskies, Elon has gone 3-5 with wins over Drexel, JMU and Charleson, but has lost twice to Hofstra, JMU, William & Mary and UNCW.
• The Phoenix finished non-conference play with an 9-4 record.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
• Northeastern and Elon have met just three times in the past.
• After splitting last season's series, the Huskies began this year with a win to improve their overall record over the Phoenix to 2-1.
• Northeastern is 1-0 all-time in Boston against Elon.
 
LAST TIME VS. ELON
• The Huskies opened the CAA season at Elon earning an 86-79 victory over the Phoenix, the fourth-straight win in a CAA opener for the Huskies
• Quincy Ford tallied the first 30-point game of his career and David Walker notched his first career double-double (26 points, 12 rebounds)
• Ford joined Walker as current Huskies to have scored 30 points in a single game.
• Walker & Ford mark the first teammates to have 30-pt games in the same season since J.J. Barea & Marcus Barnes did so in 2003-04.
• The win was the first in the state of North Carolina for the Huskies since an 83-82 win over UNC Asheville on Feb. 19, 2011
 
THIS WEEK IN HUSKY BASKETBALL
• Northeastern began the week with a Thursday night overtime game at the College of Charleston
• The Huskies took a 20-point lead in the second half, but were held scoreless over a 10 minute span in the second half as the Cougars chipped away at the lead and forced overtime
• In the overtime period, neither team scored in the first 2:42, but the College quickly added five points to the total and went on to a 68-61 victory
• Jeremy Miller led all Husky scorers with 17 points and added nine rebounds
• T.J. Williams tacked on 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting while David Walker added 13 and Zach Stahl finished with eight points and a career-high tying 12 rebounds and six assists
 
EXTRA TIME
• Northeastern has played four overtime games in 2015-16, including a triple OT thriller vs. Hofstra (Jan. 21)
• The four overtime games this season are the most since the Huskies played in five overtime games during the 2012-13 season
• Northeastern earned a victory in the first OT game of the year, an 87-84 season-opening win over Boston University
• The Huskies fell 87-86 in overtime to Western Michigan Monday Dec. 2.
• For the second time in school history, Northeastern went to three overtimes (1982 NCAA Tournament vs. Villanova) this time with Hofstra (Jan. 21)
• The Huskies fell in a 96-92 battle with the Pride as two different Huskies notched a double-double in the loss
• Just a week after the triple OT game, the Huskies went to overtime against Charleston (Jan. 28) falling 68-61 to the Cougars on the road
• Northeastern is 39-31 all-time in overtime periods
 
 BREAKING SCHOOL RECORDS
• The 2015-16 men's basketball team has broken a couple of school records this season
• Just two games into the season the Huskies broke a school record after forcing 24 Wentworth turnovers, the Huskies stole the ball away from the Leopards a school record 20 times
• The mark bests the previous record of 19 steals set against Vermont on Dec. 5, 1985.
• After tying the school record for 3-pointers in a game with 14 against Delaware (Jan. 7), as eight different players connected from deep on the night, the Huskies broke the school record in a triple overtime thriller vs. Hofstra (Jan. 21)
• Northeastern connected on 17 threes in the game led by Caleb Donnelly's 5, Quincy Ford and David Walker's 4, Jimmy Marshall's 3, and one from T.J. Williams.
 
JUST LIKE J.J.
• Senior David Walker is having a career year
• With 32 points against Towson, Walker notched his third, 30-point game of the season, the first Husky to do so since J.J. Barea finished the 2004-05 season with six 30-point games.
• Walker also notched 30-point efforts at Western Michigan (Dec. 7) and Lipscomb (Nov. 21)
• This season, Walker has also notched his first career double-doubles
•  Walker's first double-double came on 26 points and a career-high 12 rebounds at Elon (Dec. 31)
• His second came in Northeastern's triple OT game against Hofstra (Feb. 21) via 18 points and a career best 13 assists
• Walker became the first Husky player to record a double-double via the points/rebounds and points/assists fashion in the same season since J.J. Barea in 2003-04
• That season Barea had three double-doubles (one P/R, two P/A)
 
HUSKIES FROM DEEP
• The Huskies have made 197 field goals from behind the arc in 2015-16. The 197 made 3s ranks third in the CAA and 19th nationally
• The Huskies 3-point shooting percentage, .375, also is in the top of the conference in second, and 60th nationally
• Northeastern has hit for at least 10 treys in 11 of its 22 games this season
• Ten different Huskies have hit a three this season led by David Walker's 63 and Quincy Ford's 51
• Walker's 63 3FGs ranks second in the CAA and 22nd nationally, Ford's 51 rank fourth in the CAA and 99th nationally
• Northeastern connected on 17 threes in the game led by Caleb Donnelly's 5, Quincy Ford and David Walker's 4, Jimmy Marshall's 3, and one from T.J. Williams.
• Northeastern connected on a then-school record-tying 14 3-pointers against Delaware (Jan. 7) as a school record eight different Huskies connected from deep during the game, one shy of the NCAA record (9).
• Against Vermont (Dec. 22), Northeastern combined for 13 threes on the day led by Quincy Ford (23 points, 7-of-12 3fg) and Caleb Donnelly (career-high 15 points, 5-of-7 3fg)
• The 7 3s for Ford and 5 for Donnelly were a career-high
 
NU'S RATING PERCENTAGE INDEX
•  Entering Saturday's game with Delaware, Northeastern is ranks 123rd in the RPI, sixth highest in the CAA this season out of 351 Division-I programs
• William & Mary tops the conference with the 46th best RPI in the nation
• Elon enters the contest with an RPI of 127th, seventh best in the CAA.
• After defeating previously unbeaten Miami, the Huskies tallied their highest RPI ranking of the season at No. 31 on Dec. 1
 
SEEING DOUBLE-DOUBLE
• Northeastern, as a squad, has registered nine double-doubles on the season from four different players, the first time since the 2011-12 season that four different Huskies have notched a double-double in the same season
• During that season, Joel Smith (2), Reggie Spencer (2), Quincy Ford (1) and Jonathan Lee (1) accomplished the feat.
• Quincy Ford leads the way with four double-doubles this season through the first 22 games of the year, a career-high for the redshirt senior
• The four double-doubles rank third in the CAA and 153rd in the nation.
• Leading the CAA are Rokus Gustys of Hofstra and Marvin King-Davis of Delaware with 10 on the year.
• Ford had two double-doubles in his freshman (2011-12) and sophomore (2012-13) campaigns
• The four double-doubles are the most since Scott Eatherton had five last season
• Zach Stahl and David Walker each have recorded two double-doubles on the year while Jeremy Miller has notched one
• Stahl and Walker recorded their second double-doubles of the season in a triple OT game vs. Hofstra (Jan. 21). Stahl's was of the points/rebounds variety (19 points, 11 boards) while Walker tallied his via 18 points and a career-high 13 assists
• Stahl registered his on Nov. 20 vs. FAU with a career-high 20 points and 11 rebounds.
• Walker earned his first career double-double at Elon on Dec. 31 notching 26 points and a career-best 12 rebounds
• Miller became the fourth Husky with a double-double against Delaware (Jan. 7) when he achieved the feat for the first time in his career behind 15 points and 11 boards.
 
IN THE STARTING LINEUP
• Northeastern freshman Jeremy Miller made his first career start at Western Michigan (Dec. 7) and has been in the starting lineup for the Huskies ever since
• He was the first freshman to start a game since T.J. Williams made his starting line up debut on Nov. 22, 2013 against Charlotte in the Puerto Rico Tip-off
• With T.J. Williams sidelined due to an injury, redshirt senior Caleb Donnelly earned his first career start at NC State (Dec. 29) in his 43rd game of action
• Devon Begley and Donnelly Gresham each got their first career start at UNCW (Jan. 2) and continued in the starting lineup against Delaware (Jan. 7)
• The start came in Begley's 49th career game and Gresham's third.
• Jimmy Marshall earned his first career start at Charleston (Jan. 28) filling in for Quincy Ford who has been out since the Hofstra game (Jan. 21)
 
LOOKING FOR 100
• Bill Coen is currently the third-winningest coach in Northeastern history with 157 career wins (Jim Calhoun, 250 wins in 14 seasons; Dick Dukeshire, 204 wins in 13 seasons)
• Coen, who tallied his 150th career win in style with a buzzer beating victory over No. 15 Miami, is also closing
in on another milestone in his coaching career
• The 10th year coach is close to win No. 100 in CAA action, he currently has 96 conference victories

• Quincy Ford has improved from 23rd, where he began the season on the Northeastern all-time scoring chart, to 11th place with 1,474 career points.
• Ford has tallied 334 points this season, and with his 18-point day at Delaware, he passed John Williams' 1,443 career points earned from 1984-88.
• Walker began the year in 29th, and with his 400 points this year, has moved into the Top-15 with 1,440 points.
• Walker jumped into 13th place after an 18-point night against Hofstra (Jan. 21) passing Derrick Lewis (1,394 - 1986-89)
• The duo also finds themselves on the career 3-point field goals list
• Ford can be found on the career blocks chart where he just moved into fifth place all-time
