BOSTON – Unable to pull out the victory against Elon on Jan. 29, the Northeastern women's basketball team will look to rebound on Sunday, Jan. 31, when the Huskies travel to William & Mary for a 2 p.m. CAA game. NU won the first regular-season meeting between the two squads on Jan. 15, earning a one-point overtime win at Cabot Center, 69-68.

QUOTESÂ
Senior co-captain and shooting guard
Tiffany Montagne talked about her 18-point performance against Elon on Jan. 29 and previewed the Huskies' game against William & Mary on Sunday.
Â
Q: Tiffany, you enjoyed a season high, 18 points, on Friday against Elon, the most you have scored in a CAA game during your career. What have you personally been working on that contributed to your success on the floor, and what did you take away from Friday's game?
Â
A: I think during the last few days, coach Cole has really been wanting the seniors to step up and show leadership, so that is what I have been trying to focus on these last few days. I know coach Leflar talked with me about playing tentatively, and that really got to me and came through [on Friday]. I think last night was a tough loss [against Elon]. We started off with a strong lead, but somewhere towards the end, those last four minutes of the game, we started to play cautious. I think that's something we need to focus on for our next game.
Â
Q: On Sunday, Northeastern will be playing William & Mary for the second time this season, after defeating the Tribe, 69-68, in overtime on Jan. 15. What did you and your teammates do well during that game, and how can the team replicate that on Sunday to earn the victory?
Â
A: The last game [we played] against William & Mary was really a team win. Everybody did what they had to do; everybody played their role. Nobody really stepped out and tried to win the game for themselves, which was really big. I think for this next game, we have to just do what we did the last time. We had a really good game plan, and we stuck to it for the whole 45 minutes. If we do that, I think we can come out of there [on Sunday] with a win.
Â
Q: The Huskies are about to enter the final month of the regular season as February begins next week. Describe where you think the team is today, in contrast to where it was at the beginning of the season.
Â
A: I think we started [the season] off strong at 3-0. Defense is definitely big for us, and somewhere after our first three wins, we kind of lost that intensity. At the beginning of the year, we had started off games weak and had to fight back. Now, our first quarter is really strong, but our second half is not as strong. I think we need to take those pieces and put them together, and I think going forward if we can do that, we can finish every game. Every game we play in is very winnable. If we can hone in on a few of the key things coach Cole is asking of us, then we can finish off the season really strongly.
