BOSTON – Ending the 2016 season on its home pitch, Parsons Field, the Northeastern men's soccer team will play its final match of the year on Tuesday, Nov. 1, when the Huskies host Dartmouth at 6 p.m.

RECAPPING WEEK TEN

Riding a three-match winning streak into its Saturday showdown against College of Charleston (Oct. 29), Northeastern was unable to pull out a fourth consecutive victory as the Huskies were defeated, 2-1, by the Cougars. Trailing by two goals at halftime, NU rallied to produce nine shots during the second half, finding its first goal on Khori Bennett's successful penalty try during the 81st minute. Kevin Carvalho came close to heading in the equalizer with 15 seconds to play in regulation, but powered the ball too strong over the crossbar. Jonathan Thuresson faced four shots during the opening 15 minute of the match and went on to make four saves.

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH

Contrary to Northeastern, Tuesday's match is the first of three remaining regular-season contests for Dartmouth (5-4-5), who share second place in the Ivy League with Columbia, chasing Harvard. The Big Green will make their second trip to the Boston metro during the last two weeks, having suffered a 1-0 road defeat against Boston University on Oct. 18. Dartmouth has sported a +4 goal differential through 14 matches this season, having scored 16 goals while conceding 12.

Noah Paravicini and Justin Donawa are tied as Dartmouth's 2016 point leaders, each boasting eight-point totals courtesy of three goals and two assists. Donawa also leads the team with 32 shots and three match-winning goals. Matt Greer has been the most skilled shot taker for the Big Green, pointing 14 of his 30 attempts on net. James Hickok has allowed 11 goals during 13 starts between the posts for Dartmouth, saving opposing shots at a rate of .810.

LAST MEETING

Despite more than doubling up Dartmouth in shots during last season's regular-season finale at Burnham Field, Northeastern fell behind on two late goals knocked in by the Big Green as the home side won a 2-0 contest on Nov. 3, 2015. NU smoked Dartmouth, 10-2, in shots during the first half and maintained its eight-shot advantage for the remainder of the match (15-7), conceding once during the 75th minute to Amadu Kunateh and again during the 85th minute to Eduvie Ikoba. Then-junior Christian McKenna had a day for the Huskies, striking six shots and powering three shots on goal. Harry Swartz tallied two shots as well, while Ackim Mpofu, Khori Bennett, and Charlton Muhlauri each registered a shot as well.

NU will head into the offseason following the conclusion of Tuesday night's non-conference match against Dartmouth, graduating four members from its senior class: Harrison Balder, Marc Greenblatt, Khesanio Hall, and Christian McKenna. The Huskies finished the 2016 CAA season with a 3-5-0 conference record and currently sit seventh in the league table, two points shy of four 11-point programs in what was an entertaining race throughout the year.
