BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team returns to Matthews with a win under its belt, ready to take on Drexel Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
 
The game will be the first of a men's basketball, men's hockey double header at Matthews on Saturday. Make sure to wear red as we look to Red Out Matthews.  The game will be broadcast live on Comcast Sports Net New England.
 
The Huskies and Drexel will meet for the first time this season; Drexel was the remaining school Northeastern needed to face in conference action.  
                                                                                                                                                                       
Northeastern enters the game with a 13-13 record, 5-8 in CAA play after earning a hard fought 47-44 victory at Towson on Thursday night.   
 
Drexel enters the game with a 3-21 overall record, and are 1-12 in conference action. The Dragons have lost nine straight entering Saturday's meeting with Northeastern.            
 
QUICK HITS
• This is the 96th season of Northeastern men's basketball. NU has an all-time record of 1,168-1,082 (.519) in 2,249 games.
• This will be the 58th meeting between the two teams in program history
• Drexel leads the series between the two teams 38-19 though the Huskies have won five of the last seven meetings
• The Huskies are 10-13 all-time in Boston against the Dragons and have won the last three meetings at home
• The Huskies are coming off of a gritty 47-44 win at Towson snapping the team's six-game losing streak
• Drexel has lost its last nine games entering the meeting with NU, including a 69-60 loss at Delaware Thursday night.
• Last time out, David Walker led the Huskies with 18 points and in doing so crossed the 1,500 mark
• Walker currently has 1,514 career points, the 10th Northeastern player to record 1,500 career points
• Quincy Ford will also look to cross the 1,500 mark with seven points, he has 1,493 entering Thursday's game
• Zach Stahl has recorded 970 career points, after tallying a 278 this season, en route to a season-high (290- 2014-15)
• With Northeastern's win at Delaware, head coach Bill Coen is now holds the title of most conference victories by a Northeastern coach, passing Jim Calhoun (more on page 6)
• Coen tallied his 150th career win (all at Northeastern) with a 78-77 upset over No. 15/19 Miami on Nov. 27.
• The Huskies are 367-251 (.594) all-time in conference play including a 109-81 (.574) record since joining the CAA in the 2005-06 season.
• The Huskies have amassed 12 regular season conference championships and eight tournament titles including last season's title which sent the Huskies to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 24 years.
 
A WIN WOULD....
• Bump the Huskies over the .500 mark to a 14-13 overall record
• Improve Northeastern to 6-8 in CAA play
• Give Northeastern its 20th win all-time against Drexel
• Give the Huskies their second straight win
• Give the Huskies their fourth straight win over Drexel at home
 
SCOUTING THE DRAGONS
• The Dragons enter their game with the Huskies with a 3-21 record on the season and 1-12 record in conference play.
• Drexel is led by Tavon Allen who is averaging 12.6 points per game. Only two Dragons are averaging double figures on the season. In addition to Allen, Sammy Mojica is currently in double figures with 10.0 ppg
• Drexel has started eight players through the first 24 games of action this season.
• Abif is leading Drexel with 6.6 rebounds per game while Terrell Allen has dished out a team-high 76 assists on the year.  
 
THIS SEASON
• Drexel, through 24 games has put together a 3-21 record on the season, and just a 1-12 record in the CAA. The Dragons enter the game with the Huskies on a nine-game losing streak after falling to Delaware Thursday night. The win for Delaware was their first in 15 games.
• The Dragons began the season on a six-game losing streak before defeating La Salle in the beginning of December. A Big Five win over Penn followed in overtime and Drexel earned its lone conference win of the year vs. College of Charleston at home, 61-54.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
• Northeastern and Drexel have met 57 times in the past with the Dragons holding a 38-19 series advantage.
• Though the Dragons hold a commanding series lead, the Huskies have won five of the last seven games vs. Drexel. The two teams split the season series last year with the advantage going to the home team.
 
HUSKIES FROM DEEP
• The Huskies have made 226 field goals from behind the arc in 2015-16. The 226 made 3s ranks third in the CAA and 31st nationally
• The Huskies 3-point shooting percentage, .373, is second in the CAA, and ranks 61st nationally
• Northeastern has hit for at least 10 treys in 13 of its 26 games this season
• Ten different Huskies have hit a three this season led by David Walker's 78 and Quincy Ford's 52
• Walker's 78 3FGs ranks first in the CAA and 12th nationally, Ford's 52 rank eighth in the CAA and 205th nationally
 
WALKER FROM DEEP
• David Walker has 78 threes through 26 games this season for the Huskies.
• The senior leads the team, the CAA and ranks 12th nationally in made 3FG in 2015-16
• His 78 threes bests his total last season and ranks fourth all-time on the Northeastern 3FG Made Single Season chart
• His 78 threes are also the most through 26 games in school history
• Walker has notched at least one 3-pointer in each game this season and has tallied 5+ 3-pointers in six games this season, the most in school history
• Jose Juan Barea, who had 73 treys and Marcus Barnes who had a then-school record 81 threes in 2003-04 each had 73 3-pointers through 26 games that season
• In addition, Walker has connected on 231 career 3-pointers, which ranks third place on the Northeastern all-time chart
• His career 3-point shooting percentage of .383 currently ranks fourth all-time among all Huskies
• Despite missing three games on the season, Quincy Ford ranks fifth all-time with 191 career treys and his career 3-point shooting percentage is just outside the top-10 at Northeastern (.354)

• Quincy Ford has improved from 23rd, where he began the season on the Northeastern all-time scoring chart, to 11th place with 1,493 career points.
• Ford has tallied 353 points this season, and with his 15-point day at Delaware, he passed Marcus Blossom's 1,475 career points earned from 1997-01.
• Walker began the year in 29th, and with his 474 points this year, has moved into the Top-10 with 1,514 points.
• Walker jumped into 10th place after a 19-point night against William & Mary (Feb. 4) passing Ford and Marcus Blossom (1,475)

THIS WEEK IN HUSKY BASKETBALL
• Northeastern kicked off the week against Towson on the road trying to split the season series with the Tigers
• The Huskies held Towson to 44 points, the lowest an opponent has had all season against Northeastern, including 22 second half points, the fewest for a Northeastern opponent this season
• David Walker finished the game with 18 points and on his first three make of the day registered his 1,500th career point as a Husky
• The 18 points marked the 15th game that Walker has had 15+ points this season
• Walker also finished the game with four treys, advancing his season total to 78, fourth all-time in Northeastern history
 
WALKER FOR THREE
• David Walker has connected from behind the arc in each of the games this season and in 30-straight games dating back to last season
• And in six games on the year, the senior has dropped 5+ treys, including a career-high 7 at Detroit (Dec. 5)
• With six 3-pointers against Elon (Jan. 30), Walker became the first Husky to have six games of 5+ threes in a single season in Northeastern history
• Marcus Barnes had five 5+ 3FG games during the 2003-04 season
 
GETTING DEFENSIVE

HOLDING TOUGH
• After allowing their opponents to 50, 55, and 42 points in the second half in the last three games, the Huskies defense locked down against Towson
• In 20 minutes of second half action, Towson was held to just 22 points on 7-of-25 shooting, a season low for a Husky opponent
• Northeastern snapped a five-game streak of being outscored
• In the first go-around with the Tigers, Towson recorded 54 second half points
