CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 6 Northeastern women's hockey team (25-6-1, 19-3-0 WHEA) battled toe-to-toe with unbeaten No. 1 Boston College (31-0-0, 21-0-0 WHEA), but the Eagles were able to score three power-play goals en route to a 5-3 win on Friday afternoon at Conte Forum.

The Huskies led by scores of 1-0 and 2-1, but the Eagles answered back and eventually netted the game-winner with two seconds left in the second period when Kenzie Kent broke a 3-3 tie with her 11th goal of the year.

Senior Kendall Coyne scored her 40th and 41st goals of the season to become the 12th Division-I player since the year 2000 to pot 40 goals in a year. Coyne also added an assist on Denisa Krizova's first-period goal to move into a tie with Tina Cardinale for second place all-time at NU with 104 career assists.

Freshman Brittany Bugalski stopped 39 shots, including 19 in the first period, as the Eagles held a 44-30 advantage in shots on goal.

• Coyne put NU back in front at 8:04 of the second period when she dug out a loose puck in the crease and shoveled a shot through the five-hole of Burt to make it 2-1.
• The Eagles responded once again when Makenna Newkirk buried a rebound at the top of the crease to make it 2-2 at the 14:33 mark of the second stanza.
• Boston College took its first lead of the game just two minutes later when Newkirk rifled a shot into the upper left corner of the net from the left dot on the power play to make it 3-2 Eagles.
• NU evened the score 39 seconds later when Coyne intercepted a pass in the BC zone and sniped a shot over the glove of Burt with 2:50 left in the second period.
• The scoring frenzy continued when BC's Kenzie Kent collected a loose puck and wristed one home with two seconds left in the middle frame to put the hosts back up, 4-3.
• Alex Carpenter sealed the game with an empty-netter with 30 seconds left to give the Eagles the 5-3 win.
