BOSTON – Despite outshooting Boston University by a 50-28 margin, the No. 6 Northeastern women's hockey team (25-7-1, 19-4-0 WHEA) fell just short in a 3-2 Terriers win on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena.

Sophomore Denisa Krizova notched a goal and an assist, and senior Kendall Coyne potted her 42nd goal of the season, but BU netminder Erin O'Neil was up to the task with 48 saves. O'Neil stopped all 16 NU shots in the second period, before turning away 19 of 20 attempts in the third as the Huskies outshot the Terriers (20-11-2, 17-4-2 WHEA) by a 36-16 margin over the final 40 minutes.

Goal Recaps
• The Terriers took a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded goal at the 9:33 mark of the first period when Jordan Juron found Dakota Woodworth on a 2-on-1 for a shot that snuck through the pads of Brittany Bugalski (25 saves).
• Northeastern evened the score at 9:20 of the second stanza when Coyne took a feed from Krizova and slipped a shot inside the left post from a tough angle.
• Juron put BU back in front, 2-1, when she poked home a Victoria Bach pass in the slot with 2:02 left in the second period.
• Bach then made it 3-1 Terriers three minutes into the third period when she walked into the low slot and slid a shot through the five-hole of Bugalski.
• Trailing by two goals in the final minutes, NU elected to pull Bugalski for the extra attacker. The move paid dividends as Krizova whacked home a rebound following a Halle Silva shot to make it 3-2 with eight seconds to play.

Stats of the Game
• The Huskies recorded at least 50 shots on goal for the third time this season.
• Northeastern allowed its first shorthanded goal of the year.
• With two points, Denisa Krizova became the first Husky not named Kendall Coyne to reach the 50-point plateau in a season since Brooke Whitney and Brooke White in 2001-02.
Brittany Bugalski earned the secondary assist on Coyne's goal for her first collegiate point.
• NU went 0-for-5 on the power play, while BU went 0-for-3.

Up Next
The Huskies will close out the regular season on Saturday against the Terriers at Matthews Arena at 2 p.m. Northeastern will salute seniors Kendall Coyne, Tori Hickel and Jordan Krause prior to puck drop.
