Press ConferenceBOSTON -- A three goal first period and a three-point night for
Adam Gaudette set the tone for the Northeastern men's ice hockey team (10-13-5) on Monday in a 5-1 victory against No. 9/9 Harvard in the Beanpot consolation game.
The Huskies jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the first period thanks to goals from

Goal descriptions:• Northeastern jumped out to a 1-0 lead less than four minutes into the game as McMurtry netted his sixth goal of the year, and second in as many games. After McMurtry stole the puck in the neutral zone and dropped to

• The Huskies took a two-goal edge with 7:42 to play in the first period when
Adam Gaudette buried his seventh goal of the season. With NU transitioning into the attacking zone, McMurtry carried the puck down the right side of the zone and sent a backhand pass into Gaudette joining the rush. Gaudette quickly received the pass and roofed a shot over Lackey's blocker.
• NU went up by three in the final minute of the first period when Sikura netted his ninth goal of the year. After taking a pass from
Lincoln Griffin,
John Stevens cut towards the net and fed Sikura with the puck at the opposite post for the easy tap-in past Lackey.
• Harvard cut the deficit to two with 9:02 left in the second period when Ryan Donato notched his seventh goal of the season, taking a clean face-off win by Luke Esposito between the hashmarks and firing a shot over Ruck's glove to make it 3-1.
• Aston-Reese put the Huskies back up by three with 13:45 to play in regulation when he knocked home his eighth of the year following some precision passing from Northeastern. After
John Stevens fed
Nolan Stevens with a pass at the left dot, Aston-Reese sped towards the net, took a pass from Nolan and one-timed a shot past Lackey for the score.
