BOSTON – The Northeastern men's and women's track and field teams both finished in second place at the sixth annual Joe Donahue Games this past Friday. The Huskies posted six first place finishes competing against seven other northeast opponents. Northeastern finished with 129 points for the women's team and 129.5 points for the men's team. Leading the meet for the women was UMass Amherst with 135 points and for the men, Army claimed the top spot with 134 points.
Patrice Williams lit up the track with a 1:14.89 run in the 500 meters, just one second off the school record.
Jessica Scott also put up a strong performance in the 60-meter dash, claiming the top spot in both the preliminary round and the finals. Scott stopped the clock at 7.63 on her second run. On the men's side,
Paul Duffey clocked a personal best of more than two seconds with a 4:00.79 one-mile run, good for first place. The sprints were highlighted by a 22.00 200 meter run from
Kyle Darrow who reset the 60 meter school record just last weekend.
In the field,
Paige Suse continued her dominance in the high jump, leaping 1.71 meters (5' 7.25"), higher than any other athlete entered.
Ryan Kim claimed first in the shot put with a throw of 16.98 meters.

Next Up
The Huskies will compete again next weekend at both the Penn State National Invite and the John Thomas Invitational hosted by Boston University. Both meets run from Jan. 27th-28th.
