BROOKLINE, Mass. -- With a trip to the CAA semifinals on the line, the No. 3 Northeastern women's soccer team (12-5-3, 5-1-3) flexed its offensive muscles in a 6-0 victory over No. 6 Charleston (8-9-1, 3-5-1) to advance to the second round of the CAA tournament next Friday.
Junior
Nicole Gorman netted two goals for the Huskies, including the eventual game-winner only 3:08 into the contest. Junior
Hannah Rosenblatt also found the back of the net twice to bring her season goal total to a team-leading seven. With her first goal of the afternoon, Rosenblatt became the fourth player in program history to reach 20 career goals before the end of her junior season.
Senior
Kayla Cappuzzo put the program record for assists (25) further out of reach as she notched three helpers on the afternoon. She also broke her own record for assists in a single season with nine assists.
Sophomore
Emily Evangelista got on the board late for the Huskies as she put away her first collegiate goal.
Before the game was seven minutes old, the Huskies pounced out to a 2-0 lead. After Gorman's opening tally, senior
Hannah Lopiccolo buried her fifth goal of the season on the rebound of her own penalty kick.
The six-goal effort was NU's third in program history and breaks the school record for largest margin of victory with a six-goal differential.
Goal Recaps:
	- Gorman began the scoring parade early for the Huskies with her first of the day. After a perfect through ball from Lopiccolo, Cappuzzo sent a ball into the box for Gorman who deftly touched the ball with her back foot and tapped it into the open half of the cage.

	- Less than two minutes later, Lopiccolo drew a foul in the Charleston box and took the penalty kick. Her shot to the left post was stopped, but the rebound bounced back to her and she put it in the right side of the net.

	- The Cappuzzo-Gorman combo struck again in the opening minute of the second half as Cappuzzo lifted the cross to Gorman at the left post. Gorman smashed the ball out of the air, off the keeper and in.

	- In the 63rd minute, Rosenblatt netted her 20th career goal off another brilliant cross from Cappuzzo. She chipped the cross over the keeper's head and in to give the Huskies the 4-0 lead.

	- Evangelista notched her first goal as a Husky late as NU had sustained pressure in the Charleston box. The ball came to her with some open space near the net and she made no mistake, sending a low shot into the middle of the goal.

	- Rosenblatt capped the day off with her second strike of the game in the 89th minute. She made a move at the top of the 18 to get space and uncorked a shot into the bottom left corner to make it 6-0 Huskies.

Northeastern will travel to Hofstra on Friday to take on No. 2 Drexel with the winner moving on to the CAA championship game. Semifinal kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m.
