BOSTON -- The No. 15 Northeastern men's hockey team looks to move to 3-0-0 in league play for the first time since 2008 on Saturday night when the Huskies battle crosstown rival No. 12/11 Boston University at Agganis Arena.

The all-time series with Boston University
For the 232nd time in program history, Northeastern will face off against its crosstown rival, Boston University. The rivalry dates back to Feb. 6, 1931 and has favored the Terriers throughout. BU holds a 164-58-9 record over the Huskies, but with two Hockey East points on the line, Northeastern looks to place this one in the win column.

The Terriers won last season's series with a mark of 3-0-1. The season series began with a 4-4 tie at Matthews Arena, but the Terriers got the upper hand the following night at Agganis Arena with a 3-0 win. In the Hockey East quarterfinals later that season, the Terriers swept the Huskies with a pair of 3-2 wins at Agganis to end NU's season.

Scouting the Terriers
The Terriers opened their season with a pair of wins against ranked opponents as they topped No. 16 Union, 4-1, and No. 14 Quinnipiac, 3-2 in overtime. Since that pair of wins, the Terriers have stumbled a bit, going 1-4-1 in their last six. After losing twice at home to Minnesota State, BU had a three-point weekend against UConn to open their conference slate before dropping 4-3 and 3-0 decisions to No. 1 Denver and No. 11 Providence, respectively.

Junior Bobo Carpenter has leapt out of the gates with six goals and three assists through eight games. Sophomore Patrick Harper and junior Jordan Greenway trail Carpenter in the team scoring race with eight and six points, respectively. As was the case last season, the Terrier net belongs to Jake Oettinger. The sophomore has started all eight contests for BU and has a .907 save percentage.

Sikura named to Canada's Karjala Cup roster
Dylan Sikura has been named to Team Canada's roster for the Karjala Cup, which will be held from November 8 to November 12 in Zurich, Switzerland and Helsinki, Finland. It is the third tournament in which Team Canada will compete as it prepares for the 2018 Olympics Games. Sikura will miss Northeastern's weekend set against Boston University and at UMass Lowell on Nov. 10-11.

"We're thrilled that Dylan has the chance to compete with Team Canada," said Fernie Flaman Men's Hockey Coach Jim Madigan. "He's worked incredibly hard over the last several years to develop into one of the top all-around players in college hockey, and to see him earn this opportunity is a testament to the effort he's put in on and off the ice. Obviously we'll miss Dylan's presence while he's away, but as a program we couldn't be more excited for him."

He's Sik
Senior Dylan Sikura is third among active players in the nation with 106 career points, and became the 50th player in team history to reach 100 career points on Oct. 20 against Quinnipiac. He's the fourth Husky in the last three seasons (Kevin Roy, Zach Aston-Reese, John Stevens) to accomplish the feat.

What's most impressive about Sikura is his steady progression throughout his career at Northeastern. He went from a seven-point in 25-game freshman campaign where he was an occasional healthy scratch to 28 points as a sophomore before a breakout 57-point junior season. Seventy-one of Sikura's 106 career points (67%) have come in his last 44 games.

Sikura is currently second in the nation with 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in just seven games this season, making him the only player in college hockey since 2012-13 to record a multi-point effort in each of his team's first six games, and one of two players in the nation to reach 14 points in that span since 2012-13.

For his efforts, Sikura was named the Hockey East Player of the Month for October.

It marks the second straight year that Sikura's started the season with a six-game point streak. Before then, it hadn't happened since Braden Pimm, Kevin Roy and Mike Szmatula all started the 2013-14 season with points in their first six games.

Gaudette named Hockey East Player of the Week
After leading the nation with four goals in a weekend sweep of No. 17 UMass Lowell, Northeastern men's hockey junior Adam Gaudette has been named the Hockey East Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

The Braintree, Mass. native got things started in a big way on Friday night, recording a natural hat trick in a 3-1 road victory before following it up with a huge shorthanded goal in the second period on Saturday at Matthews Arena to tie the game.

This is the first career Hockey East Player of the Week accolade for Gaudette, who is third in the nation with 13 points (six goals, seven assists) on the young season. He has at least a point in six of the team's first seven games of the year.

Gaudette is also tied for seventh among active NCAA players in career scoring with 95 points, tied for second in career goals (44) and first in power play goals (24).

Dynamic duo
Senior Dylan Sikura and junior Adam Gaudette have picked up right where they left off a season ago, recording 14 and 13 points apiece, respectively, through the team's first seven games. Dating back to 1999, they are the only Huskies to record four straight multi-point games to open the year.

They make Northeastern the first team to have a pair of skaters with three straight multi-point games to start the season since Cornell (John McCarron and Joel Lowry) in 2013-14. In the last six seasons, only five players in the nation have recorded multi-point efforts in their teams' first four games.

Sharpshooters
Since 2014-15, NU has been held to fewer than 20 shots just twice: vs. Notre Dame (Nov. 13, 2016 – game shortened to two periods) and Oct. 27 at UMass Lowell. It marked the first time that the Huskies had fewer than 20 shots on goal and still won the game since Jan. 17, 2014 vs. Vermont (19 shots).

Power up
The Northeastern power play has developed into one of the most lethal units in the nation in the last three years. NU led the nation with 55 power play strikes in 2016-17, tied for the most in team history. Northeastern has also led the nation with the power play goals over the last two (94) and three (128) seasons.

Junior Adam Gaudette broke the school record for power play goals in a season (16) last year, and currently leads all active players in the NCAA with 24 career goals on the man advantage.

At the helm
Jim Madigan is back for his seventh season as head coach. He is the 10th head coach in program history, and is 101-98-28 (.507) in six-plus seasons behind the bench. During his tenure, Madigan has led Northeastern to its first Hockey East title since 1988, first NCAA berth since 2009 and seen nine of his players drafted by NHL teams.

On Oct. 27, he became the fifth head coach in program history to reach 100 career wins, and his .507 winning percentage is the best for any head coach in team history (minimum 20 games).

Madigan is one of 20 head coaches directing their alma maters. As a player, he was a two-time Beanpot champion and was on the 1982 team that reached the Frozen Four.

Recapping Saturday's win vs. UMass Lowell
Patrick Schule was the hero for Northeastern on Saturday night, scoring with 2:50 remaining in overtime to lift the Huskies to a 5-4 victory and weekend sweep of No. 17 UMass Lowell in front of 3,953 fans in a wild back and forth bout at Matthews Arena.

After UMass Lowell's Ryan Dmowski tied the game with 1:38 left in regulation with a six-on-four skating advantage to force overtime, Lincoln Griffin sped into the attacking zone in the extra frame and fired a shot that was blocked. John Picking's follow up bid was knocked behind the cage, where Schule quickly gathered it and flung it off the stick of UML goaltender Tyler Wall for the game-winner.

Northeastern saw the River Hawks battle back from 1-0, 3-2 and 4-3 throughout the night as the teams exchanged goals twice during the third period. Nine different players scored between the two teams, including the first collegiate goal from Bobby Hampton early in the third. Grant Jozefek, Adam Gaudette and Nolan Stevens also scored for the hosts, while Ryan Ruck had 23 stops in goal.

The road ahead
The Huskies continue Hockey East play next weekend as the Terriers make the return trip during Homecoming Weekend on Huntington Avenue. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Matthews Arena.
