ELON, N.C.  – Thanks to 40 points from Bolden Brace, a triple double from T.J. Williams and two overtime periods the Northeastern men's basketball team outlasted Elon 105-104 Thursday night at Alumni Gym.

The Huskies had a two-point advantage, but with time winding down in regulation, Tyler Seibring hit a fadeaway jumper to even the score at 81-all and send the game into overtime. With the Huskies holding a three-point advantage in the first OT period, Dainan Swoope drilled a three to even the score at 95-all.

And in the final OT period, with 2.2 seconds left, the Phoenix tried to run the same play down 105-104, but Jimmy Marshall's defense altered Seibring's game-winning try and the Huskies escaped with the win.

The 40-point effort by Brace was just the third 40-point game in Northeastern history, the other two were recorded by Northeastern greats Jose Juan Barea (41) and Reggie Lewis (41). Barea's effort came 12 years ago vs. Stony Brook (March 5, 2005) while Lewis' took place vs. Siena (Feb. 19, 1986).

The majority of Brace's 40 points came from behind the arc as he hit a school record 10 3-pointers on the night, breaking the last record set by Marcus Barnes and Demetrius Pollard who each had eight.

Williams' triple double was the first in 11 seasons since Shawn James had 17 points, 14 rebounds and 11 blocks against James Madison on Feb. 15, 2006. Williams finished with 26 points, a career-high 12 assists and 10 rebounds in the game. He was also 10-for-10 from the free throw line and currently has 185 free throws this season eclipsing Lewis' 184 during the 1985-86 season.

Anthony Green added his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds on the night while also adding a career-best five blocks. While Marshall finished with a career-high 15 points including a clutch three down the stretch.

Seibring led the Phoenix with 30 points and 12 rebounds while Dmitri Thompson had 23 points and 10 rebounds.

After Elon started the game off on a 7-0 run and built up a 14-3 lead through the first four-and-a-half minutes, head coach Bill Coen had seen enough and called a timeout. Coming out of the break, the Huskies unleashed a 9-0 run, eventually scoring their first 18 points of the game via the 3-pointer.

Leading the way for the Huskies was freshman Bolden Brace who finished the first half with a career-high 28 points on 7-of-10 shooting from behind the arc, in just the first 20 minutes of play.

The Huskies fought back in the second half and took their first lead of the game 50-49 with 17:32 left in the second half. The Huskies extended their last to eight 60-52, on a Brace three, as Matt Matheny called his first timeout of the game to settle the team. The Phoenix tied the game at at 64-all and the two teams battled back and forth for the final 10 minutes of action.

Northeastern had a five-point lead with just under two minutes to go but a three by Seibring and the game-tying shot, sent the game into overtime.

The 105-point effort was the first 100-point game in the Bill Coen era and the most points against a Division-I program since Northeastern beat George Mason 108-87 on Dec. 4, 1993.

The Huskies will round out the regular season on Saturday afternoon when they travel to UNCW for a 2 p.m. showdown with the Seahawks.
