BOSTON – Led by a school record performance from the 4 x 400m relay team, the Northeastern men's track and field team tied for second place at the IC4A Championships with 57 points. The women's team finished 13th out of 44 teams, earning 20 team points.

In the final race of the day, Chris Jewett, David Johnston, David Adams and Austin Lin blazed to a record 3:12.38 finish in the 4 x 400m relay. The squad knocked off the previous record of 3:12.75 set during the 2014-15 season. Jewett is also a member of the men's distance medley relay team that ran record-breaking times a few weeks ago.

Following the meet, head coach Cathrine Erickson remarked:
"This group competed hard and kept themselves in the hunt for a top three finish throughout the meet. Because they remained focused on competing hard, we broke some records and won some key events.  Finishing 2nd is a historic feat and something to be extremely proud of. This is a great way to end the indoor season and I am looking forward to the outdoor season as I foresee some great things from this group!"

In addition to the school record performance, the Northeastern men earned three first place finishes in the 60m dash, 1000m run and distance medley relay. Naukym Morton again led the sprints racing within .01 seconds of his school record with a 6.73 finals time. Senior standout Paul Duffey shaved two seconds off his prelim time with a run of 2:22.57. Sophomore Marc Rienas also chopped two seconds off his prelim time in the 1000m with a finals run of 2:24.15, good for third overall.
