BOSTON, Mass. -- As the rain fell thick and the wind twisted and howled, the Northeastern women's soccer team (6-3-0) emerged with a 3-1 victory against the Dartmouth Big Green (4-3-0) Friday night at Parsons Field.
The win was the first in program history for the Huskies against the Big Green after going without a result in four previous tries. It was also Northeastern's 10th consecutive win at Parsons Field.
Senior
Kayla Cappuzzo opened the scoring in the 13th minute for the Huskies with her second goal of the season. The goal gave her career points No. 48 and No. 49 to bring her within a single point of joining the 50-point club.
After scoring only one goal in her freshman year, sophomore
Kerri Zerfoss potted her third goal of the season tonight. It was her second straight game-winning strike at Parsons Field. She also added an assist on senior
Carly Wilhelm's insurance marker that made it a 3-1 game.
The Big Green scored on their only shot on net in the first half, but junior
Nathalie Nidetch rejected all six of their shots on goal in the second half.
Goal Recaps:
	- Cappuzzo took a pass from freshman Mikenna McManus along the left sideline with two defenders closing in on her. She evaded the pressure and found open space inside the 18. Cappuzzo quickly looked off her passing options and drilled a shot into the bottom left corner to open a 1-0 lead for NU.

	- Dartmouth answered quickly with a pretty goal off a set piece. With a free kick near the top of NU's 18 box, Remy Borinsky leaned into a shot and placed it perfectly inside the post to knot the score at 1-1.

	- Zerfoss scored the game-winner off a brilliant corner from Taylor Caparo. The cross flew high into the box and Zerfoss leapt to get her head on it. She poked the ball past the keeper and in to give Northeastern a 2-1 lead as the rain intensified.

	- Wilhelm netted the insurance goal for the Huskies off another corner kick. Lopiccolo sent the ball into the box where Zerfoss tried to score off the header again. Her bid didn't reach the net, but Wilhelm tracked the ball and headed it in herself to make it a 3-1 lead for the home team.

Northeastern will wrap up nonconference play on Sunday as they face New Hampshire on the road at 2 p.m.
