Highlights
DEDHAM, Mass. – Behind a pair of goals from
Jamie Bartucca, a pair of assists by Meg Barrett and a Husky offense that was clicking on all cylinders, the Northeastern field hockey team downed Brown 4-1 at Dedham Field Sunday to pick up their first home win of 2017.

Bartucca, who also had a pair of goals on Friday, tallied her fourth multi-goal game of the season with another two goals today. On the season she has eight goals, just two off of her career-high 10 notched last season.

The Husky offense was firing Sunday afternoon, combining for 25 shots, 18 of which came on goal, while they also forced 12 penalty corner opportunities, a season-high for the squad.

June Curry-Lindahl led the way with seven shots on the day, five of which came on goal, sneaking the first shot of the day past the Brown netminder while helping on the eventual game-winner.
Laura MacLachlan added four shots, two on goal, notching on assist on the day while also helping to set up the Huskies' first score of the day. Kelly Stigas added a goal, her fourth of the year, on a rocket shot off of a penalty corner.

Brown managed just one shot on goal on the day, making for an easy day between the pipes for
Julia Gluyas, who made her first career start for the Huskies.

FIRST HALF
Northeastern 1-0:
Jamie Bartucca stripped a Brown attacker at midfield, dribbled through the center of the field and sent a pass through the circle to an awaiting Curry-Lindahl who chipped it past the Brown goalie and into the right side of the goal to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.

The assist was Bartucca's fifth point of the weekend after scoring a pair of goals on Friday night.

Northeastern 2-0: Huskies take a 2-0 lead on a rocket of a shot by
Kellie Stigas who used the perfect setup from a penalty corner to make it a two-goal lead. Curry-Lindahl inserted the pass to Meg Barrett who stopped it perfectly and set Stigas up for the score. The goal is Stigas' fourth of the season, setting a new career-high for the redshirt junior. Â

SECOND HALF
Northeastern 3-0: The Huskies made it a three-goal game when Bartucca laid out, using the end of her stick to get the ball past the Brown goalie.
Laura MacLachlan set the play up, dribbling into the circle and setting up Barrett for a direct shot to Bartucca who sent the shot in for her seventh goal of the year

Brown 3-1: Brown got on the board using their second penalty corner of the game. The Brown Bears converted on your typical penalty corner. Rachel Lanouette had the score off of the stop by Corinne Condie and the insert by Gina Openshaw to make it a 3-1 game

Northeastern 4-1: The Huskies regained the three-goal lead when Bartucca once again four herself in the right place at the right time setting herself up in front of the goal and flicking in a pass from MacLachlan, who deked right past the Brown defenders to set up the score

The Huskies are on the road for their next game when they head up to Orono, Maine on Friday afternoon for a 3 p.m. contest against the Black Bears before returning home next Sunday when they will face Vermont on Celebration of Legends weekend.Â
