BOSTON – Donnell Gresham tallied all 17 of his points in the second half and, in doing so, led the Huskies to a 76-64 comeback victory over Delaware on Saturday afternoon at Matthews Arena.

Gresham's first basket of the day was a layup that registered the sixth-straight Husky point of the second half and that prompted Delaware head coach Martin Inglesby to call a timeout early in the second frame.

He went on to hit three 3-pointers as well as a couple more jumpers, while pulling down seven rebounds as the Huskies recorded a season-best 48 second-half points in the victory.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 13-7 overall and 6-2 in conference action and have won five of their last six games while Delaware falls to 11-10 and 4-4 in the CAA.

Vasa Pusica, who found himself in foul trouble in the first half, finished with 16 points, 13 of those coming in the second, while dishing out three assists and pulling down four rebounds. The production was spread all around, once again, as the eight different Huskies that scored each finished with at least six points on the day.

Delaware, who had just seven players see the court, was led by 16 points from Ryan Daly and Ryan Allen. Daly added nine rebounds while Allen had three assists. Anthony Mosely added 13 points and eight boards on the day.

FIRST HALF
The Huskies and Blue Hens went back-and-forth through the first 20 minutes of action going bucket-for-bucket in a half that saw six ties and 14 lead changes, while the Blue Hens entered the locker rooms at the half with a 31-28 lead.

Both teams got off to a slow start to the half and in the first four minutes of action, combined for 26 shot attempts making just seven of them.

The Huskies gained a four-point advantage on a Maxime Boursiquot layup, before Delaware used back-to-back baskets to even the score less than a minute later.

A Allen jumper put the Blue Hens on top by one, before a three by Devon Begley gave the Huskies a two-point advantage.

Delaware ended the half on a 5-0 run to head to the locker room with the 31-28 lead.

SECOND HALF
Coming out of the half, Northeastern scored the first six points as Anthony Green laid one in and then slammed one down to give the Huskies a one-point edge. A layup by Gresham was all Inglesby had to see before calling his first timeout of the half, just under two minutes in.

The Blue Hens got a bucket back, but the Huskies kept control and gained as much of a six-point edge following a 3-pointer by Gresham.

Delaware was able to tie things up and a Daly 3-pointer gave the Blue Hens a 42-41 lead, but the Huskies went on a 12-2 tear that gave them a 53-44 advantage with just under 10 minutes to go in the half. Pusica, Gresham and Tomas Murphy all contributed during the stretch, capped off by a Bolden Brace slam.

Back-to-back baskets by the Blue Hens, a trey from Darian Bryant and a layup by Mosley cut that lead to four, but Gresham rallied off seven-straight points to help the Huskies to their largest lead of the day, 60-49 with six-and-a-half minutes to go.

After a 6-0 Delaware run, and a Bill Coen called timeout, Gresham once again gave the Huskies a much needed boost, and an eight-point edge, draining his third three of the day.

Northeastern would go on to make all eight of its free throws down the stretch to finish with the 76-64 victory.

UP NEXT
The Huskies are back out on the road to finish out January when they head to Hofstra and Drexel next weekend. The Huskies begin on Thursday night seeking revenge against the Pride at 7 p.m. followed by a Saturday afternoon meeting with Drexel at 2 p.m.
