Track & Field Set for BU Season Opener

The Huskies will start their season on Commonwealth Ave. under new Head Coach, Tramaine Shaw

BOSTON – Coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history last year, the Northeastern track and field team will open their 2018-19 season at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Boston University Season Opener for the fifth consecutive season.
 
With a brand-new coaching staff, the Howlin' Huskies are slated for another successful season. Tramaine Shaw, earned CAA Coach of the Year honors last year as the interim Head Coach. This year, Shaw has been promoted to permanent Head Coach and will be at the helm of the program as the Huskies take on the 2018-19 season.
 
Furthermore, Shaw has added Consandria Walker-Hall as Associate Head Coach, and Steve Waithe, John Murray and Wilfredo De Jesus Elias as Assistant Coaches for the program.
 
The Huskies ended the 2018-19 outdoor season with a sixth-place finish by senior Kyle Darrow in the high jump at the NCAA Championships and four Major CAA Awards across the board.
 
Northeastern has a historically have a strong showing at the BU Opener. Most recently, at the annual meet last year, five Huskies set career bests and the team posted 20 top-three finishes. They'll look to continue their tradition of success as 30 women and 47 men travel to Commonwealth Ave. for their first competition of the season.
